To operate and promote a multi-use and multi-generational Community Center for the citizens of the City of Omro and surrounding areas and communities. The Community Center is housed in an historic building which is listed on the National Historic Register. The building was originally the gym annex for the Omro High School, built in 1934. After the building was condemned and left empty for several years, a dedicated group of volunteers worked for 10 years to raise funds and remodel the building, finally opening in September of 1995 as a non-profit corporation. Since that time we have served thousands of residents and non-residents each year through programs offered and rental space available. The Community Center is also a part of the city's emergency/disaster plan, being a place where residents can come to report damage to property and find support for their needs. The center was built on the philosophy that people of all ages can learn and grow with each other while gaining an appreciation for the gifts that each age group brings to our community. Therefore, the Center takes its role of providing inter-generational opportunities very seriously.
