Who We Are

To operate and promote a multi-use and multi-generational Community Center for the citizens of the City of Omro and surrounding areas and communities. The Community Center is housed in an historic building which is listed on the National Historic Register. The building was originally the gym annex for the Omro High School, built in 1934. After the building was condemned and left empty for several years, a dedicated group of volunteers worked for 10 years to raise funds and remodel the building, finally opening in September of 1995 as a non-profit corporation. Since that time we have served thousands of residents and non-residents each year through programs offered and rental space available. The Community Center is also a part of the city's emergency/disaster plan, being a place where residents can come to report damage to property and find support for their needs.  The center was built on the philosophy that people of all ages can learn and grow with each other while gaining an appreciation for the gifts that each age group brings to our community.  Therefore, the Center takes its role of providing inter-generational opportunities very seriously.

What We Do

Our Community Center serves as a community resource center offering a variety of services including but not limited to: Advocap meal site and home delivery; healthy living options including exercise, nail care, nutrition information provided by certified volunteers; social gathering place with planned recreational activities. We also offer exercise and arts opportunities for all ages. Tae Kwon Do and yoga are offered in the evenings, and greeting card creation are offered at various times. We hold public presentations here, blood drives 6 times per year and offer our rooms for public rental for public or private events for a nominal fee. We have a class offered by Fox Valley Tech College once a week during the school year and we are the polling place for our city during elections.
