The STAR Center is searching for volunteers who can assist individuals with Parkinson's Disease during Rock Steady Boxing (RSB). RSB is a non contact boxing curriculum designed to specifically target Parkinson's symptoms such as tone, rigidity, gait, and mobility. No prior experience is needed. We will train you. Volunteers will be actively engaging in the program with participants.
This is an excellent experience for students or community members interested in Adaptive Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, and Sports Science. University students are not expected to volunteer during midterms and finals- we are able to work with your schedule.
