The STAR Center is searching for volunteers who can assist individuals with physical disabilities play the game of Wheelchair Pickleball. No prior experience is needed. We will train you. Volunteers will be actively playing the sport with participants.
This is an excellent experience for students or community members interested in Adaptive Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, and Sports Science. University students are not expected to volunteer during midterms and finals- we are able to work with your schedule.
Please visit our website for more information and to register as a volunteer. Volunteer hours can be used toward a Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist (CARSS II) Certification. This experience will compliment ACSM Certified Inclusion Fitness Trainer (CIFT) by giving you hands on experience. Internships and practicum opportunities are available.
