JFS Housing is in need of volunteers to help assist with the delivery of Hunger Task Force Stock Boxes to residents of Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences. The Stock Boxes will provide the elderly residents of Deerwood Crossing with nutritious items including cereal, juice, pasta, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
Volunteers will meet at the front door of Deerwood Crossing and will assist JFS Housing staff in unloading the boxes off of the van, sorting them by apartment number, and delivering the boxes directly to residents’ apartments.
Volunteers must be able to lift and carry upwards of 30 pounds. Closed-toed shoes are required and dressing for the weather is encouraged as volunteers will be outside while loading and unloading the JFS Housing van.
In order to provide a safe environment for volunteers, staff, and clients we welcome volunteers who:
- Have not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) or tested positive in the past four weeks.
- Have not encountered anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two weeks.
Volunteers are recommended to wear a face mask at all times while on JFS property. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own face masks, but if they do not have one, one will be provided for them. We invite a maximum of 5 volunteers to participate.
JFS staff members and housing residents are advised to wear face masks and practice social distancing at all times.
