If you are interested in helping families in need at our Zion Rock pantry during the Covid-19 pandemic, the hours will be 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.
This will include stocking, packaging pick-up food boxes and transporting them upstairs where the boxes will be picked up. We greatly appreciate your support as Friedens will continue to provide for the food insecure.

Before you volunteer, we have some basic information we’d like to share with you about the precautions we are taking at our pantries to keep everyone safe. There’s a lot here - thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with it:
CDC Guidelines
- We are limiting our volunteer teams to no more than 6 and trying to maintain at least 6 ft of distance within the pantry at all times. As such, it’s very important that we know in advance if your plans change and you are no longer able to make a scheduled shift. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule to allow us time to find a replacement.
- Groceries are currently being pre-bagged by volunteers and delivered to community members at the door to limit contact.
- All volunteers will wear wear masks and disinfect surfaces during their shift for the safety of everyone. If you have any personal protective equipment at home, please bring it the day you volunteer, otherwise gear will be provided to you.
- We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available Monday - Saturday: pantry service, unloading deliveries, pre-bagging food, and rescuing produce from grocery stores. Please consider signing up for more than one opportunity, and sharing this request with friends and family.
- In addition to volunteering, know there are many other ways to support the pantries:
- Consider hosting a food and supply drive - ask us what is needed!
- Did you know our pantries are purchasing more food right now? It only costs us $5 to feed 1 person for 5 days. Consider helping us with our “purchasing power” by making a donation through our website.

- Are you willing to be on a "On-Call" list so we may call you to see if you are available to volunteer the day-of should someone else have to cancel? (You may always decline the request if you are called. If yes, please share any times that you are not available and we will never call you during those times.)

There’s been a lot to learn these days and we are immensely grateful to our community of volunteers who shared their creativity and passion with us to develop new systems to keep people fed, safe AND loved.
