Companion volunteers enrich the lives of hospice patients in their area through regular visits, which may involve playing games, a leisurely stroll through the nursing home/assisted living facility or just engaging in lively conversation. Service hours are flexible and scheduled according to your availability and location. Requirements of Companion Volunteers: must be 18 years or older; agree to background/reference checks; have reliable transportation; and attend an orientation to learn more about the philosophy of hospice, our company, the role of the volunteer and communicating with hospice patients and their families, complete 2-step TB testing. Volunteer hours are flexible and opportunities are scheduled according to needs, personality, availability and location.
