Join in for the Lincoln Avenue Community School Parent Job Seminar! Volunteers will help local men and women develop the skills and resources they need to boost their job search prospects, find a new job or start a new career! Help us break barriers to employment at this exciting and unique event.
Role Duties for Resume Coach: Volunteers will be paired to work one on one with seminar attendees to create, update or polish an existing professional resume. Volunteers should be prepared to assist an individual from start to finish, helping to showcase the individual’s skills and experiences in a professional manner. Volunteers should also be prepared to provide feedback on any job or resume-related questions including how to address gaps in employment on a resume and how to craft a compelling interest statement. Experience in evaluating resumes is a bonus but certainly not required. Computers and jump drives for saving the documents will be provided. Bilingual (Spanish) volunteers are preferred as a large number of attendees are spanish speaking.
Time Commitment: One hour-long shift from 10-11am. Volunteers are welcome to join us for the entire morning's activities beginning at 8:30am.
