Help us put a number to the amount of homeless in Eau Claire. Volunteers would cover an area in Eau Claire between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Training can be provided.
Point in Time is a national count of homeless in the area during that given night. It would take approximately 1 hour to cover your area which would include looking in public areas like parks, parking lots, camp sites, down town areas, Walmart, bridges etc. If a homeless family or person is found, an interview is requested along with completing some paperwork on the interview. These found people are then offered a personnel hygiene item bag to help through their journey.
We will take as many volunteers as possible. We prefer people go in groups of 2 or more. At least one Volunteer needs to be 18 years old per group.
