We’re excited for what your volunteer support could mean for girls in our communities. They’ll have the chance to do something amazing – to learn they have the power to overcome adversity, to experience the sweet taste of achievement and to realize their dreams!
At STEM Soup: Code Squad, Daisy & Brownie Girl Scouts (K-3rd grade) will learn all about algorithms and apply their skills to video gaming with Angry Birds. Volunteers are needed to provide tech support to four Girl Scouts as they complete two fun, hands-on activities to help them build skills in computational thinking.
Volunteers must have a basic knowledge of computer code, especially Python-based Blockly coding as well as a basic understanding of algorithms and how to follow them. You should also be comfortable working with young children (ages 5-8).
