Housing Resources, Inc. seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working for a well-known community based nonprofit organization.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Update maintain social media presence, including scheduling Facebook and Twitter updates
- Research and implement strategies to grow our social media presence on Facebook and Twitter
- Assist in creating, planning, writing and managing quarterly eNewsletter
- Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
- Designing fliers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for events
- Recommend website updates when needed
- Organize and attend monthly marketing meeting including preparing agenda and taking minutes
- Conduct customer follow-up to create success stories, draft annual report, etc.
- Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
- Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, online promotion, etc.
- Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
- Assist with execution of community outreach; event planning and execution in various capacities
- Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
- Prepare presentations
- Maintain tracking report of public relations activity
- Develop the marketing campaign for the upcoming quarter and/or fiscal year.
- Develop and produce program video content for our website and YouTube
Qualifications:
- Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
- Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism)
- Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel)
- An effective communicator, both oral and written
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner
- Self-motivated, good organization skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Creative and comfortable with working under your own initiative to design and improve the organization/products.
