You are invited to join Prevent Blindness Wisconsin for a vision screening at a Milwaukee school on Monday, May 5 from 8:00 a.m. to noon! Help us identify children with potential vision problems and set them on the road to healthy vision through this opportunity.
Founded in 1958 by a group of dedicated volunteers, Prevent Blindness Wisconsin's mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight in Wisconsin communities. We envision a Wisconsin where everyone enjoys a lifetime of healthy vision and we work toward this goal by providing free, direct sight-saving services, such as vision screenings, throughout the state.
Volunteers help with vision screenings at schools and childcare centers throughout Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County that otherwise do not have the capacity to screen the children at their schools and centers. No previous experience is necessary, and our staff will provide all necessary training for the vision screening. For the safety of the students we vision screen, all volunteers are required to submit background check paperwork.
If you are interested, please register for this opportunity by Thursday, May 1 so that we have enough time for you to complete and run your background check paperwork. Upon registration, you will receive the paperwork. It takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to complete. Once you are approved to volunteer, you will receive all of the details you need for this vision screening.
Please contact Hayley Pfaff, Volunteer & Office Coordinator, at hayley@pbwi.org or (414) 765-0505 ext. 106 if you have any questions.
