Thank you for choosing to serve to honor the legacy Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. challenged us to live.
Please read everything on this page first, before signing up for your project. There are important details below to help our day run smoothly.
Morning Welcome:
At 8a on Monday 1/20, we are hosting a coffee, continental breakfast, and blessing kickoff (location: FSPA Lobby). We encourage everyone to join before heading out to your service projects, investing in afternoon educational workshops, and learning from our evening community celebration & keynote speaker. Think of this day as a day "on", not a day "off", as we work to actively live Dr. King's values and vision for a community where all can thrive.

Explore Projects and Reserve Your Spot:
Please click on a Need to see more details, shifts, and a transportation plan. Each project is different, so please review the descriptions carefully. Click respond to that Need and answer the questions to complete sign-up for your project/location! You'll receive a follow-up email by Sunday 1/19 with confirmation, specifics, and any last-minute updates. We encourage you to get to know the organization you're working with and/or explore the issues you're serving before your project. We've included some hyperlinks in each project to get you started.
Collaboration:
Agency managers and the Community Engagement team receive an automated email once you complete a need response for a project. Each project will have a Site Leader, most having a host from our partner agency. We hope we're able to connect with and learn from the staff, organizations, and explore the issues we're serving on this day.
Please register as soon as possible. Projects will close as spaces/shifts fill.
Registration deadline: Saturday, January 18th at 9am.
Site Leaders Needed:
If you are interested in serving as a Site Leader for the project you are interested in, please indicate that in your registration notes. We encourage any Viterbo employees or experienced Service Saturdays students to consider this role.
Transportation:
If you are able to transport yourself to your project, please indicate your seatbelt capacity in your registration notes. We will finalize the transportation plan for all project participants in project confirmation emails on Sunday 1/19. Some projects will be walking, some will be supported by Go Riteway school buses, and some will need transportation to be on their own. Please read each project carefully so you know before reserving a spot and look out for the final confirmation email by 1/19.
- All participants are encouraged to bring a sling bag with hand sanitizer, a full water bottle, a snack, and/or any other personal needs relevant to their project (work gloves, hand warmers, backup mask, etc).
- Participants are encouraged to prioritize health and safety. If you wake up with a temperature or any symptoms, please stay home and email your Site Leader to inform them of your absence.
