Volunteer Advocates needed in Wood County nursing homes and assisted living facilities!

If you enjoy visiting with the elderly, this opportunity could be perfect for you! We are looking for volunteer advocates to improve the lives of the elderly living in nursing homes and Assisted Living facilities in Wisconsin Rapids and the surrounding communities! These advocates make weekly unannounced visits to a designated nursing home, observe general conditions of the facility, meet with residents to educate them about their rights, and empower residents to resolve concerns they may have. Our volunteers are friendly visitors on a mission of advocacy! Training and materials are provided, with ongoing support always available. This opportunity is flexible - visits are 1-2 hours in duration, and can be made any day of the week between 8am-8pm. We accommodate Snow Birds and work with your vacation schedules.   Please consider becoming a Volunteer Advocate with the State of Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care in your community!
