Food Shelf Assistant - Morning Shift
Part Time | Long Term (flexible - 3 mo.+ weekly commitment preferred)
Food Shelf Assistants work under the supervision of the Food Shelf Manager to help guide food shelf participants through the pantry.
This position has considerable contact with the public. Successful food shelf volunteers will have a respectful and accepting attitude, adhere to the confidentiality disclosure, and have solid customer skills. Closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers may be asked to up to fifty pounds.
A polite and understanding attitude towards program participants and volunteers is critical.
Specific duties include:
- Guiding program participants through the food shelf while following established guidelines of amount of food per household size
- Stocking and straightening shelves
- Miscellaneous cleaning tasks
