The 25th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive, organized locally by the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 59, is Saturday, May 13, 2017.
Each year, letter carriers across the country work together to "Stamp Out Hunger" in their communities. There are a couple ways you can get involved:
- Place non-perishable food and hygiene items by your mailbox no later than 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 13. Preparing your donation at this early time allows for our volunteers to assist your letter carrier in picking donations up. Please do not wait until your mail usually arrives to set out donations. All food collected stays local, benefiting:
- New Horizons Shelter & Outreach Centers
- Onalaska Food Basket
- Prince of Peace Food Pantry (La Crescent)
- The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse
- WAFER Food Pantry
- Volunteer! United Way is currently seeking more than 70 people to volunteer for this event! You can help out by picking up donations (drivers/passengers) or manning one of several drop-off sites. Please visit Great Rivers United Way's profile on Ugetconnected to learn more and sign up!
Questions about the food drive or how to volunteer may be submitted to Adrianne Olson at aolson@gruw.org or (608) 796-1400. THANK YOU for helping us combat hunger in the Coulee Region!
