Who We Are
The mission of the Senior Resource Center is to serve, support, assist, and advocate for the older adults of Sawyer County and their caregivers to help them achieve active, fulfilled, independent, and healthy lives. The Senior Resource Center, originally formed as the Sawyer County Aging Unit, has been located at the Hayward site for over 30 years.
What We Do
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) which oversees 5 meal sites and Meals On Wheels deliveries throughout Sawyer County, WI, for residents 60+. Besides meals we offer Benefit Specialist assistance for Medicare Savings Program, Medical Assistance Program, WI Senior Care Drug Program, Medicare Low-Income Subsidy and the Wisconsin Food Share program which can be used to pay for congregate or Meals on Wheels and they can assist the applicants with many other issues. Others services offered through our office include but are not limited to: Adult Day Respite, Caregiver Support Group, Exercise Classes, Yoga Class for Balance, Massage, Volunteer Driver Program, Bus Service, Income Tax Preparation, Family Care Services and other social activities at the senior centers.
