Who We Are

NWCSA's mission is, "To improve the quality of life by providing resources and services within our communities".

NWCSA first incorporated in 1967. Our agency has had many accomplishments over the 47 years we've been in operation. We assumed management of the local soup kitchen in 1999; opening its doors in 1938, it's still the only soup kitchen in operation in our Service Delivery Area (SDA). Upon obtaining the soup kitchen, NWCSA also received a large garage that became our food warehouse. We took on additional programs such as Women, Infants & Children (WIC) and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in the 1970's; Transitional, emergency and permanent housing in the 1990's; and Skills Enhancement, the community garden and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program during this decade. Our most recent program began just this month.
