Who We Are

New Richmond Area Community Education is an extension and service provided by the School District of New Richmond. The educational and recreational, and social opportunities provided by Community Education for all ages makes the New Richmond School District truly a community-centered school district.

New Richmond Community Education has been a part of the community since 1981. It was started by Bob Heebink, a former teacher in the district. It has grown over the years to encompass many opportunities for life long learning. We reach over 17,000 residents annually and the number grows. We currently mail out three catalogs a year to area residents. This program has been recognized as a model on the state and national level.

Currently we reside in the districts former middle school, now called the Community Commons. We are the facilities managers for the building that houses other non profits, like the Senior Center, VFW Post 10808, Headstart, Five Loaves Food and Clothing Center, and originally also housed WITC programs and the New Richmond Community Foundation office.

What We Do

New Richmond Community Education provides opportunities for life long learning. We provide classes, trips/tours, seminars, activities and events for all ages. We are the coordinators for the Annual Empty Bowls campaign for hunger and we are coordinators for the STEP program, which is a program for seniors to work in our schools for property tax credit. We are also partners with many other non-profits in our area, as well as business partners. There is always something happening in community education. Dog classes, pickleball, dancing, singing, meditation, yoga, and more.
