Hope Gospel Mission

Our mission is to end poverty and homelessness in the lives of the people we help.

1998: Hope Gospel Mission founded. Without a building, we initially help the homeless by housing them in hotels.

2000: The Men's Shelter opens at 8 South Farwell Street in downtown Eau Claire.

2003: The Bargain Center opens, providing jobs for our residents and more consistent income for the Mission.

2005: The Education Center opens, providing educational services to our residents. The Ruth House Women's Shelter opens at 2517 Moholt Drive in Eau Claire.

2006: Building Hope opens. It is the first building-materials re-use center in Western Wisconsin.

2007: The Renewed Hope Program is implemented after many years of the Mission experiencing "revolving door" syndrome with its residents. This program addresses the roots issues of homelessness so that our residents can be free from it.

2010: The Education Center moves to 307 S. Farwell Street to become the Solomon Learning Center, now offering classes on computer use, money management and more to the public.

Hope Gospel Mission is a rescue mission for single men and women. We provide food, clothing, shelter, and more to those we help, but our focus is on ending homelessness and poverty in people's lives. To do this we provide a long-term life-changing program called the Renewed Hope Program, which we tailor-fit around the needs of every individual who comes to our door. The Renewed Hope Program addresses the roots issues of homelessness, such as alcoholism, gambling addictions, severe debt, and bad relationships. At the end of this program, our residents have a full time job, at least $3000 in savings, a support system (so that they don't slip back into addiction), a car that we donate to them, and many other resources. Our volunteers help us rescue, rebuild, and renew the lives of these individuals. Will you be a part of this work happening right here in Eau Claire?
