Who We Are

The mission of Easter Seals Wisconsin (ESW) is to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers, and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.

What We Do

ESW operates two camps for people with disabilities in Wisconsin Dells, WI: Camp Wawbeek and Wisconsin Elks/ESW Respite Camp. The two camps are located on 400 wooded acres. The camps provide recreational activities in the camp setting as well as trips into the community. Both camps have week long sessions in the summer and weekend sessions throughout the school year. Camp Wawbeek serves people ages 7 and up with physical disabilities, cognitive delays, and campers on the autism spectrum. Campers who attend Camp Wawbeek must be able to function in a small group with a ratio of one counselor to two-three campers or two counselors to four-six campers. Respite Camp serves people ages 3 and up with more involved needs that have diagnoses of autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavior issues. Each camper has one counselor paired with them throughout the sessions. We have AmeriCorps members serve as Respite Apprentices and be counselors for our campers. We also have AmeriCorps members serving in various coordinator roles involved with our camps.
