Who We Are
The Butternut School District is committed to a philosophy of service to children. The primary objective is to help each child develop into a mature individual, capable of becoming a contributing member of society. The Butternut School District has a long history of providing education to our community. Last year we celebrated 100 years of graduating students from the Butternut High School.
What We Do
The Butternut School District is a small, rural school district in northern Wisconsin. Our community of 357 residents supports a school of 225 students in programs from 3 Year Old Kindergarten through Grade 12. We have over 65% of our students on Free or Reduce lunch as defined by the Federal Food Program. Many of the families we serve (40%) are on some form of public assistance. The students are often entering school skill-deficient in the areas of social and behavioral development.
