Who We Are
We build safe and healthy communities embracing restorative practices, and we heal the injury caused by crime and conflict. We help clients involved in crimes and conflicts to move forward toward a better future. Our clients are referred to our agency by circuit and municipal courts, police departments, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Corrections, and our county school districts. Barron County Restorative Justice Programs began in 1999.Our programs include: restorative conferencing, at-risk student programs in 6 school districts, victim impact panels, traffic violators program, Prime for Life (underage drinking), and cognitive group intervention.
What We Do
We use volunteers to help support our programming and share their voice as an important part of restorative justice processes. Volunteers can facilitate restorative conferences or circles, become instructors for our workshops, mentor youth in community service projects, and/or share their story in our victim impact panels. We offer training and all volunteers must complete a background check. Our clients are all ages and are usually first-time offenders.
