Great Rivers 211 is an information and referral agency that people access by dialing 2-1-1 on their phone, texting their zip code to 898211, or chatting with us or searching our database at our website https://www.greatrivers211.org/gr211/. 211 is the national telephone number for free access to health and human service information.

211 is accessible 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, and 365 days/year. Anytime someone reaches out to 211 they will interact with a caring community resource specialist who is ready to talk with them about any situation or need and help them find resources.

211 also provides supportive listening and support to people who are experiencing a crisis. When someone is not sure where to turn, they can always count on 211 to be there to listen, guide, support, and provide resources. 

Volunteers can help Great Rivers 2-1-1 in a number of ways. These include:

1. Marketing - Developing and/or implementing a marketing plan to educate the communities we serve about Great Rivers 2-1-1 and create awareness for the service we provide. We create an annual report and period ad hoc reports when needed.

2. Customer Service - supporting the work of community resources specialists in providing follow-up to community members in need of support and resources.
