The Gathering

Founded in 1982 as a weekday breakfast ministry in downtown Milwaukee, The Gathering of Southeast Wisconsin has grown into one of the region’s largest volunteer-driven meal programs. Over four decades, it has expanded from a single site to multiple locations, serving more than 127,000 meals annually through strong congregational and community partnerships. Grounded in dignity-centered service and adaptability, The Gathering continues to respond to evolving hunger needs while remaining rooted in its original mission: ensuring all neighbors have access to nourishing food.

At The Gathering, we serve free, freshly prepared meals every day at each of our four Milwaukee locations—ensuring that anyone facing hunger has a warm, nutritious meal. In addition to our own meal sites, we partner with five community organizations to extend our reach even further. Beyond serving food, we connect our guests with vital resources that address hunger, homelessness, and related challenges.
