Mission
The Sevastopol School District’s mission is “Pioneering the next generation with a focus on high academic standards, character growth, and social-emotional skill development.” The district is committed to creating an inclusive and safe learning environment where students are empowered to develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed to be college, career, and community ready. Guided by the principle of “Students first all the time,” Sevastopol focuses on academic excellence, strong relationships, innovation, and preparing students for future opportunities.
History
The Sevastopol School District has a long-standing tradition of serving the families and communities of northern Door County. Rooted in a strong agricultural and community-based heritage, the district has grown from its early rural school roots into a comprehensive PreK–12 educational system serving more than 600 students from the communities of Institute, Valmy, Carlsville, Jacksonport, Juddville, Egg Harbor, and portions of the Town of Sturgeon Bay. Throughout its history, Sevastopol has maintained the values of a small-school environment—personal connections, community involvement, and pride in student achievement—while continuing to expand opportunities through innovative programming, strong academics, athletics, fine arts, and partnerships that prepare students for success beyond graduation.
