Who We Are

WAMSCO is a citizen-driven, watershed-focused non-profit organization in Shawano, WI. We represent all lakes and streams in Shawano and Menominee counties. WAMSCO seeks to achieve greater biodiversity, reduced surface water runoff, reduced nutrient load, fewer algae blooms, better fishing, and greater water recreation and enjoyment opportunities. Supported entirely by grants, member dues, and donations, we accomplish our work with a small staff and through the volunteer efforts of dedicated friends and neighbors.

What We Do

WAMSCO works to improve our local waterways throughout Menominee and Shawano Counties. WAMSCO promotes Best Management Practices “boots on the ground” restoration projects and assists with implementation to protect our natural resources. This includes various education events for our youth and the community, shoreline restoration projects, native plant installations, aquatic invasive species management, water quality monitoring, and much more!
