This includes residents who earn $64,000 or less annually, people with disabilities, and taxpayers with limited English proficiency. The program is designed to help community members navigate tax preparation confidently and accurately. The VITA services are available in two formats: in-person at Riverworks' Financial Clinic or through a secure online submission process for remote assistance. All volunteer tax preparers are IRS-certified and undergo extensive training to ensure reliable and confidential service. In addition to basic tax filing, the VITA program assists older adults through the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) initiative, which specializes in retirement-related tax issues.
