Wisconsin Rapids Area Habitat for Humanity

Wisconsin Rapids Area Habitat for Humanity was organized in 1992. We have completed 19 homes (17 in Wisconsin Rapids and 2 in Nekoosa) with the 19th home currently under construction.

We build homes for families that are currently in sub-standard housing within a 20 mile area of Wisconsin Rapids. We provide a hand up, not a hand out. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, nondenominational, Christian-based housing organization. We work with the local community to build simple, decent, and affordable housing for those who lack adequate shelter. Families are selected based on the criteria stated on our application. Volunteer hours and "sweat equity" from the prospective homeowners make the house affordable, NOT FREE. Each family makes regular monthly mortgage payments at 0% interest to HFH.
