GMUL’s ambitious vision is to elevate Milwaukee
to a top-10 city for African Americans to live and thrive and establish
Milwaukee as a leader in education and socioeconomic inclusion. GMUL serves
low-income African Americans living in neighborhoods facing significant
socio-economic challenges, including high unemployment and incarceration rates,
low high school graduation rates, and few owner-occupied dwellings.
GMUL’s
education programs and services are uniquely designed to prepare our youth for
college, to begin a training program, or to enter the workforce. GMUL’s adult
programs and services are not just about immediate support; they are about
encouraging and supporting the building of generational wealth through
sustainable employment and homeownership.
GMUL takes great
pride in the progress our clients have achieved. Our programs and services have
contributed to clients’ transformative changes, including creating
opportunities for business ownership and first-time homeownership, enhancing employment
prospects, providing financial support for college, and offering digital
training for youth and adults.
