Who We Are
RSVP's Mission: To make a positive impact in the community by recruiting volunteers 55 and older to help deliver priority services to people of all ages, providing Dane County with a valuable resource. RSVP aspires to build and expand a community wide network of volunteers and organizations that unite compassionate, experienced adults with meaningful and fulfilling service opportunities, which enrich the lives of the volunteers while enhancing support for people in need.
What We Do
RSVP recruits volunteers age 55 and older, helping seniors remain active through significant service benefiting Dane County residents of all ages. RSVP staff provide personal placement and on-going follow-up to ensure that volunteers are matched to opportunities that make use of their talents and interests. Programs include Community Connections, Group Projects/Homeworkers, Intergenerational, Triad, and Bus Buddy. RSVP also recruits volunteer drivers to use their own vehicles to provide transportation to older adults and veterans. Volunteer drivers also deliver meals outside the City of Madison and groceries from food pantries to low income older adults in Madison. In addition, RSVP has a Foster Grandparent Program where volunteers help children in schools and Head Start sites with academics and social skills directed at school readiness. Income eligible Foster Grandparent volunteers receive a stipend and other benefits.
