We have delivery driver opportunities for our Meals on Wheels program in Sussex. Drivers deliver meals to homebound individuals unable to prepare meals for themselves. Receiving these meals assures these seniors proper nutrition as well as the independence to remain in their own homes. It also provides a daily check-in and gives these seniors human contact and a smile. We ask drivers to volunteer once a week Monday - Friday, no major holidays between the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Schedules are flexible and mileage reimbursement is available.

Join us for a day of tree planting at Maywood Environmental Park!

We will be planting 100 new trees in the park and we need your help. Instructions and tools will be provided. Please be prepared to work outdoors, digging, planting, mulching and fencing trees. Please dress for the weather in close toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Please bring a water bottle, insect repellent and work gloves if you have them. Meet at Maywood Environmental Park at 3615 Mueller Road in Sheboygan in front of the Ecology Center for check-in, instruction and supplies, then head out to areas in the park for planting.

Waiver required for participation. (Is there a way for them to complete this prior to the day of the event?)

Rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, we will need to reschedule.

I am looking for someone to come in and facilitate different card games once a week with our High Acuity residents at either 6pm Wednesdays, 6pm Fridays, and/or 1pm Sundays! Likely would only be for about 1-2 hours once a week

Come engage our residents through activities ex: Bingo, Card games or use your imagination.  We are in need of volunteers to do activities with residents in Creekview.  We are looking at Saturday mornings around 10:00am.  We are open to groups who would enjoy working with the elderly.  Come share talents and fun for those we care for. 

Learn how to teach elementary-age youth to read as a trained tutor. Goodman Community Center is offering a tutoring program that teams adult tutors with elementary youth.

Teams of adults and youth will work to improve the young person‘s reading skills, with support from our Goodman Literacy Specialist.

This program runs for a total of 13 weeks, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm (off for Thanksgiving Break). Start date is September 9th, 2025. Last day is December 11th, 2025. Sessions are broken into two chapters (see below): Chapter 1: For the first 5 weeks, all new tutors attend a Science of Reading evidence-based training where they learn to use toolboxes of literacy resources and activities (before tutor sessions begin).  Chapter 2: The next 8 weeks (following the training) volunteers tutor elementary students in an after school "Lit Club." 

All tutors are assigned to a tutor team that provides continued coaching and support. Ideal tutors and enthusiastic about reading and literacy and are available for the listed 6 hours per week. The Fondy Food Truck Festival is the largest FREE food truck festival in Wisconsin! The family-friendly event features a variety of local entertainers, artists and activities for children. We are in need of volunteers to help in the following areas:

8:00-10:30 a.m. Set-up: Help set up tents, signs, garbage cans, merchandise tables, etc.

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 3:00-5:00 p.m. Event help: Oversee children's area, help with kids' crafts, welcome guests, sell water, sell 50-50 raffle tickets, work in merchandise tent, run photo booth

5:00-6:30 p.m. Clean-up: Take down signs and tents, empty garbage cans, pick-up litter, help put away equipment

Join Independence First to support seniors in our community through the Food Distribution Program with Hunger Task Force! Volunteers will load food items or boxes of food into seniors' cars in an outdoor drive-through on Friday, October 17 from 10-11am. This event is a quick and easy way to help provide fresh, healthy, and shelf-stable food to seniors in the Milwaukee Area. If you sign up as a group, you may stay after the event for an optional, private tour of Independence First to learn about universal design and our programs and services.

Independence First is a nonprofit and Independent Living Center dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently in the community. We are a scent-free facility for the safety and comfort of those with chemical sensitivities. We ask that guests refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, and other scented products at agency-sponsored events.

Youth As Resources (YAR) Board awards grants to youth-led service projects to area youth groups in Kenosha County. The YAR Board is comprised of nine youth and three adults.

The YAR Program is currently recruiting an adult board member to serve for the 2025-2026 Board year. The YAR adult board member supports youth development, leadership, decision-making, and collaboration. Specific Duties
- Support youth leadership on promoting and awarding YAR grant opportunities, including outreach, marketing materials, reviewing grant applications, offering feedback to youth applicants, etc.
- Support recruitment of new youth members during recruitment season (January-April) including promoting nomination/application materials, providing feedback on recruitment materials, and supporting the interview process.
- Co-lead one of the three committees to help move along committee-based work. Committees are Membership Committee, Outreach Committee, and Social Media Committee. Support youth initiatives and commit to responsibilities of committee work.
- Assist in the coordination of YAR Board seasonal volunteer events/service project and End of Year Celebration.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Serve for the full YAR Board year (September-May). Service may be renewed without reapplication following first term.
- Are a professional or resident in Kenosha County interested in mentorship and supporting youth leadership.
- Must demonstrate a strong desire to participate, an overall good attitude, high levels of reliability, strong attendance, and show a willingness to work.Strong communication skills – capable of working closely with youth, adults, and community-based or school youth groups.

Preferred Skills
- Experience or interest in community service, peer mentorship, and working with diverse audiences of different age backgrounds.
- Interest in wide range of social issues, including youth development, social health, volunteerism, social justice, mentorship, and youth leadership.

Join us on the first Tuesday of each month from 4:00-6:00 PM to help with Diaper Distributions at the First Presbyterian Church on Main St. in Shawano. This event runs best with 4-8 volunteers, and you can sign up for one night or several.

We also offer infrequent diaper packaging sessions where we remove donated and purchased diapers from boxes and repackage them for distribution. These events generally last 2-3 hours and are flexible on time.

Visit Marshfield is looking for volunteers with for a variety of needs throughout Maple Fall Fest. Needs include assisting with set-up on Thursday, September 11 in the afternoon, assistance for vendors with check-in on Friday, September 12, assistance at the information booth to answer general questions and sell Maple Fall Fest shirts or to help at the park entrances to supervise authorized use throughout Saturday and Sunday, and assistance with take-down on Sunday afternoon. All volunteers are provided a Maple Fall Fest tshirt as well as a meal during their shift.

Help educate and raise awareness by presenting your experiences through facilitating NAMI presentations (training provided).

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.
Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussions and informative videos.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.
NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.

Help lead support groups. Must have lived experience and be living well in recovery (training provided).

Help lead family support groups. Must have a loved one who lives with mental illness (training provided).

Help a child shop and/or wrap and bag their perfect gifts for a special person or persons in their life. It's a heart warming experience! ABOUT THE ANGEL SHOP: 

Purpose:  To allow children to be part of and develop the spirit of giving. Students in programs like these gain a true sense of pride and accomplishment from choosing a gift for another person independently from their family. 

How it works: SJA will collect donations of small gift items year around.

Our Early Childhood & K4-8th students will come in during a scheduled shopping time in December to shop for a gift for someone special in their life. Very young children will be assigned an angel helper to help them find just the right item.

Items will be priced at $1-$3. This allows children to be part of the process and spirit of giving and learn how to purchase items while keeping it very low cost to them.

They will also have the opportunity to wrap their gift on site with a volunteer.

Ozaukee Nonprofit Center

The Office Administration volunteer assists the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC) and its agencies by greeting visitors to the campus and performing basic administrative tasks in the office. Assignments can include data entry, processing mail, filing, sending electronic thank you cards, answering phones, restocking supplies and preparing for events. This volunteer will also assist with stocking Baby Bank, diaper distribution. Most importantly, you are a smiling face of the ONC. Opportunities are available all year long. Application processors work within an animal adoption software program.  The program provides detailed information about each cat adoption applicant. The processor uses this information to follow several steps in making a decision about whether the applicant meets criteria for adoption. 

The steps include checking for previous applications from the applicant, conducting a background check on all adults in the household, checking home ownership in online records or phoning/emailing landlords for apartment dwellers, calling vets for care history on current and past animals, and calling one to two personal references.

Once the steps are completed, the processor updates the software program on the status for that applicant. If approved the processor sends the application on to an adoption coordinator.

The steps can usually be completed for four applicants within 2-3 hours. If information is requested of applicants or calls are not completed to vets or landlords, more time during the day can be required. In addition to processing applications, the processor monitors a 9 Lives email account for messages from applicants as well as a chat conversation with other 9 Lives personnel. 

The organization holds periodic social gatherings.

Location:  Virtual volunteer job in your own home.  Computer or tablet recommended to do the job.  Phone required.

Time required:  1 and ½ day shift.  First day is following application processing steps for up to 4 applicants.  Second day is follow-up for those applicants if needed.  Volunteers usually work one to two shifts per week.  The days of the week for work can be arranged.

Requirements for the job:

Work independently.

Good verbal and written communication skills to communicate with applicants, vets, landlords, references and others in the 9 Lives organization.

Computer and phone skills.  Texting skills if choose to text instead of use phone for some contacts.

Willingness to receive phone calls from landlords, vets, and references. 

Good organization skills to keep up with overall status of applicants and with steps to complete application processing for each person.

Judgment to know how to make decisions about applicants and about when to ask for help (chat or email others in the organization).

Availability to work 1-2 hours during business hours for calling vets and landlords.

Willingness for calls from references or unreached landlords to come in outside work hours.

Volunteers at the ReStore get a behind-the-scenes look at the daily operations of La Crosse’s only discount home improvement store. In a typical day, volunteers help track incoming donations, support customers, and keep things running smoothly. Special projects for groups might include constructing shelving for a new section of the store or landscaping in the ReStore’s native plant gardens but must be scheduled in advance. The Jingle + Sprinnkle event will be a workshop to support community guests in creating memories while decorating sugar cookies! The volunteers that we will need will be supporting the staff by engaging in the following tasks: helping to set up for the event, greeting guests at the registration table, connecting with guests while handing out supplies, helping with clean up, etc. The timeframe will be 4:30-7:30PM.

Volunteer would paint resident fingernails, with nail polish and supplies provided.  Hours are flexible.

Why Your Drive Matters

At 6 years old, a significant portion of Brielle’s experience included being homeless. Brielle’s family had been without housing for a year, doubling up with family and friends and when that was no longer an option, staying in emergency shelters before being connected with Hope House and moving into an apartment. Shortly after Brielle’s family moved into the apartment, their Case Manager, Leslie, visited with a move-in kit of household items and cleaning supplies. Something case managers at Hope House can do with the support of your donations.

Brielle excitedly greeted Leslie, gave her a big hug, and as her family went through the supplies, she found the dish detergent and said excitedly, “and now we get to wash our own dishes!” Brielle’s excitement for a task many take for granted is a reminder of the power of your support - providing stability, dignity, and the comfort of home to families.

How to Host a Drive

Hosting a drive is easy and you know your community best. We suggest having solid start and end dates for taking collections, sharing stories like the one above, and leaning into the strengths of your workplace, place of worship, or community. Hope House can provide signs and speak to your group (when available). We do ask that donations be dropped off at Hope House (209 W. Orchard St., Milwaukee, WI) at the end of the drive as we have limited capacity for pick-ups. Schedule drop off in advance and we'll be happy to give you a tour and share more of the amazing work being done together!

We are currently seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to volunteer with our Trempealeau County Outreach Program. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us connect with the community, raise awareness, and build strong partnerships that expand our reach and impact.

Meta House's Celebrating Families! program needs volunteers!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Our Celebrating Families! program has a 13-week curriculum that seeks to rebuild families and break the generational cycle of addiction through age-appropriate, supportive group activities. Each week, our families share an opening meal together. Participants then break off into groups, by age, to discuss topics like anger management, making healthy choices, and goal setting. The program promotes successful family reunification by providing participants with the skills, information, and insight to foster and support healthy family relationships and futures.

DETAILS

We are actively seeking volunteers to help with set up (heating up food, setting out plates and utensils), serving dinner buffet style, and cleaning up (wiping down tables, packaging leftovers, sweeping, garbage to dumpsters) meals. Volunteers are needed Wednesdays from 4:30-6:15 pm. The program runs from 8/20/2025-11/12/2025.

This can be a one-time or ongoing commitment.
