Homme Home is looking for fun loving volunteers to join us on Friday afternoons! Let's celebrate TGIF and make our residents' afternoons brighter.Typical Friday activities include games, happy hour, special events, cooking, and crafts.

Volunteers are needed to transport resident to and from their rooms before and after the activity as well as assist throughout the activity. Residents' abilities vary. Some may benefit from one to one support while other activities would benefit from general helpers. The ideal candidate for this activity is able to provide support to residents in a small group setting, pay attention to multiple details at one time, and offer gentle encouragement as needed for successful participation in the activity.

Some of our favorite activities are playing dice games, attending sing-a-longs, and socializing. Volunteers are needed to transport resident to and from their rooms before and after the activity as well as assist throughout the activity. Residents' abilities vary. Do you have a few extra minutes while running errands to complete our residents' (short) shopping lists?  Homme Home for the Aging is seeking six volunteers who are able and willing to pick up incidental items for residents. We all have a favorite lotion, shampoo, or toothpaste that life just isn't the same without. For our residents, getting out and about to pick them up is a challenge. Volunteers would receive shopping lists from the Director of Activities.  They would also be either reimbursed upon their return with the items or would receive petty cash to use to make the purchases.  All volunteers for Homme Home must complete an application and pass a background check.  Volunteers for this position will receive additional training on money handling practice.  If you would like to help or would like more information, please contact Frances or Devin.  They can be reached by phone at 715-253-2125 or by email at francess@homme.org or devinm@homme.org.

Every month, we celebrate the lives of our residents with a group birthday party. At 2 pm on the 2nd Thursday of every month, we gather to recognize residents born that month. We are blessed to have many local organizations who sponsor the event with gifts, treats, and entertainment. We are seeking three to six individuals to provide support to these organizations, our staff, and residents by coordinating these events.  The committee would meet two times per year and as needed beyond that to discuss the upcoming events. 

Committee members would be responsible for confirming with current birthday party sponsors, following up on sponsor leads, communicating with the Director of Activities, following up with organizations and staff after parties, and providing support during at least two birthday parties. During events, members would be responsible for greeting and assisting the sponsoring organization with set up and clean up, delivering gifts and certificates to residents celebrating birthdays that month, escorting residents to and from the birthday party, and communicating as needed with the Director of Activities. 

Ideal candidates are fun-loving, organized, dependable, and team-oriented.
