Our Advocacy Support Team works diligently to assist our clients in a variety of ways, sometimes duties include being the friendly face that greets a new clients or helps them learn their way around our shelter. You might hold or play with a child while their parent works with an advocate. You might prepare a room for client arrival, answer our business phone line, help with organizational needs, teach a client a special skill you have, or just be available for someone who has not had a kind person in their life. Our shelter is a 24/7 facility. We are open 365 days a year, therefore our need for volunteers is great. You can volunteer during times that work with your schedule, with options including day times, afternoons, and nights! All members of our Advocacy Support Team must be 18 years or older and may not have any history of violent criminal activity.

Our Child Advocacy Team works for our clients in a variety of ways. You might hold or play with a child while their protective parent works with an advocate. You may play games with children who need some extra attention. You might assist with our children's support group, or just be available for a child who needs a kind person in their life. You can volunteer during times that work with your schedule, but our greatest needs are Tuesday evenings, Wednesday later afternoons / evenings and Thursday evenings. All members of our Child Advocacy Team must be 13 years or older and may not have any history of violent criminal activity.

Do you have great organizational skills? Do you enjoy planning events? Is meeting and working with people a priority for you? Consider joining the Bolton Refuge House Fundraising Committee! Join our team of self-directed volunteers who are in charge of planning and executing agency fundraisers. This opportunity is based on your availability and your specific interests! You can spend as little as 2-5 hours per month or as much time as you would like on this committee, there are many positions to fill!

Do you have experience with minor electrical / plumbing / painting / lawn care? Do you have 2 or more hours a week available? You are the person we are looking for! Bolton Refuge House is looking for men and women with maintenance skills to help us keep up with our physical buildings and grounds. Help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by making their residence a place where they can heal both physically and emotionally.
