We need people to help our office, too! The ideal individual would be outgoing, a real people person! Help would consist of making calls to fill open shifts. Call in flower, newspapers and patient mail transport requests. You would enter data into computer software program. Running errands can be a big part of the service.

People who like interacting with others and helping provide a comforting atmosphere for families of patients will enjoy this opportunity. Volunteers will support four departments: Critical Care, Surgical Intensive Care, Surgical Services and Short Stay Care.

People who would like to support this area will interact with people over the phone or face-to-face. Volunteers provide patient room information and answer miscellaneous questions. There will be some patient floral deliveries. There are two people assigned to this area for each day and pm shift, while evenings typically support one volunteer.

Volunteers provide sales work with the ability to assist customers with their purchasing needs. This is an in-house retail environment offering many gift items to staff as well as visiting families, friends and the public in general. Our hospital gift shop is warm and inviting. Volunteers who assist in this area enjoy the opportunity to help people find that perfect item for their ailing loved ones.

Volunteers who like to exercise and enjoy people interaction will enjoy this opportunity to transport various items while navigating through the hospital. Four-hour shifts are available Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 12 PM or 12 PM - 4 PM. Additional Requirements: Requirements for this position are: * Ability to walk 3-5+ miles per shift * Able to move light supplies (up to 25 lb) * Good listening and hearing * Able to use cell phone and pager (Teletracking System) * Good problem-solving skills * Must be 14 or older
