Volunteer: Helping seniors and the disabled with minor home repairsWe are looking for volunteers to make minor repairs in the home of seniors or disabled persons. Many of these seniors do not have family in the area to help them. We are looking for volunteers willing to give them a helping hand. The repairs can be changing light bulbs, putting plastic on their windows in the winter, repairing or replacing leaking faucets to installing grab bars. Additional Requirements: There are no requirements necessary. However persons with a background in carpentry, building, maintenance, electricians, and handyman is helpful. This opportunity to help others in need will only take 1 - 2 hours of your time. You will be assigned a route that has 4 - 6 clients. You may choose how often you want to delivery meals, from once month, once a week or as often as you choose. Additional Requirements: You must have a valid drivers license and a background check. Our program works with volunteers aged 55 and over, however we will be happy to refer you to a Meals on Wheels program near you.
