Do you have a friendly dog who loves attention from people, but is also very gentle and well-mannered? You and your dog can light up the day of Agrace HospiceCare Patients! Volunteers and their dogs are needed to visit with Agrace HospiceCare patients living in long-term care facilities in the community, or at the Madison or Janesville Inpatient Units.

* Additional Requirements: The requirements for this volunteer position include the following: Complete the volunteer application process and orientation session. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and will be required to complete a 2-step TB test and yearly TB screening. Dogs must be certified therapy dogs or have an AKC Good Citizen Certificate with annual veterinarian exam.

Licensed cosmetologists, barbers or cosmetology students are needed to provide occasional haircuts or styling to Agrace HospiceCare patients in patients' homes or in long-term care facilities. Sometimes hospice patients are unable to leave their homes for haircuts or styling; in other circumstances, patients would like to have hair styled for an upcoming event (birthday/anniversary).

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must complete a 2-step TB test with annual screening.

Agrace is a nonprofit health care agency that provides supportive care to patients and their families through the stages of a chronic, serious or life-limiting illness. We depend on the time and talents of specially trained volunteers, who assist our patients, families and staff in a variety of ways.  Additional Requirements: The requirements for this volunteer position include the following: Complete the volunteer application process and orientation session. Volunteers will complete a 12-hour training course, which is provided by Agrace to prepare you for your volunteer role. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and will be required to complete a 2-step TB test and yearly TB screening. Most roles require a commitment of 50 volunteer hours within the first year of service. Volunteers typically volunteer 2-4 hours either weekly or every other week.
