Volunteer: Hospitality Program: Provide and/or Serve Dinner at an Emergency ShelterThe Cathedral Center's Emergency Shelter serves women and families experiencing homelessness. At any given point, an average of 50 adults and children reside at the shelter, and can stay for up to 90 days. Adult guests work with case managers to set and achieve goals, find long-term housing, and access other resources they may need (i.e., workforce development, medical, mental health). Volunteers help us keep things running smoothly and provide the comforts of home through our Hospitality Program! Individuals and groups can sign up to provide a hot dinner which they purchase, prepare, and/or deliver to our clients on one-time or recurring basis. Our Hospitality Program is great for parish groups, clubs and organizations, corporate groups, and friends and families who want to serve a home cooked meal with a friendly face. Hospitality volunteers are needed every day of the year, including holidays! We prefer that Hospitality volunteers provide and serve the meal; however, if you are interested in serving but unable to provide the meal, we do have several dates per month available for serving-only volunteers. Likewise, volunteers who are able to provide the meal but not serve it would have the option of dropping the meal off for Shelter staff to serve. If you are interested in learning more or signing up, please contact Jeannie Stranzl, Volunteer and In-Kind Gift Coordinator at volunteer@cathedral-center.org . Thank you!
