We’re looking for volunteer programmers to help us build Halis, a mental health support AI. Halis is not a therapist—it’s a digital companion designed to offer encouragement, emotional resilience tools, and gentle support to people during hard days. We're just getting started and could use help from coders of all levels.

What You’ll Be Working On:

Building and training a conversational AI using tools like Python, Rasa, or similar frameworksDeveloping simple features like check-ins, affirmations, or referral suggestionsExploring safety features and respectful language models

Helping shape Halis’ personality and ethics through code and dialogue design

Skills We’re Looking For:

Familiarity with Python (or willing to learn)Interest in chatbots, NLP, or AI developmentWillingness to work independently and figure things out(Optional but helpful) Experience with Rasa, open-source LLMs, or prompt design.

Honey Suckle Bush is seeking volunteer grant writers to help us secure funding for a few early-stage community projects. We currently do not have any grant writers on our team, and there are no templates or training materials available—this opportunity is for someone who’s ready to figure it out, try their best, and learn by doing.
