They should provide helpful information, answer questions, helping with wheelchair assistance, and helping patients get to his/her appointments.

The Reiki Volunteer Program at Aurora is putting the call out for volunteers who either already know and practice the energy modality of Reiki or to those volunteers who would like to become part of this program and go through our Reiki training program. 

The Reiki Volunteer Program at Aurora brings this energy modality to our oncology patients at a variety of our Cancer Clinic locations throughout Wisconsin. Reiki helps patients find peace, balance and relief from surgeries or procedures they undergo while faced with a cancer diagnosis.  Visit our Aurora-Reiki website for more information.

Reiki healing therapy specialists at Aurora provide relief from physical and emotional pain by rebalancing the body's energy and promoting deep relaxation.

This modality can be taught over the computer by our Reiki Master Teacher on staff. We offer CEU's for those that qualify (LMT or RN) at a price you can afford: $60 per 4 hour class. 

Are you interested in making a positive impact on inpatients in our hospitals without leaving your home? We would love to have you on our team!  We are looking for volunteers to call inpatients while in the hospital to welcome them to our care, relay visitation guidelines and inquire how their stay has been.

 

Concierge Admission Program (CAP) include the following tasks for volunteers:

Remotely, volunteers call patients using a well-developed script and introduce themselves, inquire how their patient experience has been since they arrived and explains the hospitals visitation guidelines. Volunteers inquire with patients if their emergency contact would like us to call to explain visitation guidelines and to ensure they have patient’s room phone number/nurse unit phone number. If yes, volunteers will place these calls. If/when patients relay needs or concerns, we connect with nursing staff at the end of the patient call to assist in real time with the need/concern. If/when patients recognize staff for providing exceptional care, we send recognition emails to the staff members with a copy to their leader.

Advocate Aurora computer access is provided for all volunteers.

Assist team members in providing quality service to our patients and their families on assigned floor. Round on patients hourly. Volunteers do not enter isolation rooms.  AAH will provide any required personal protective equipment (PPE). Refresh water Assist with discharging patients.  Restock supplies, including isolation gowns. Provide clerical support to caregiver staff such as answering the phone, answering call lights, collating admission packets, making copies, review Welcome letter with patient. Straighten up department.  Pick up garbage off floor, empty garbage and replace full linen bags.
