Reach attends many outreach and informational events in our community. Volunteers can help by sharing their experiences with our agency and providing the community with information about who we are and what we do. These community events typically occur on week nights and weekends.

Our Traveling Closet takes our mission on the road -- bringing FREE clothing to communities that don't have access to us or a similar resource. As a Traveling Closet Shopping Assistant volunteer, you will have the opportunity to attend our Traveling Closet events, helping clients navigate their shopping experience with ease. Whether you can commit to one event or several, your participation will be greatly valued and will contribute to a warm, welcoming environment for all our clients.

Bristol Hospice provides end of life care, and volunteers are integral parts of the teams that care for each patient.

You can be a companion and friend for a patient on hospice.

Hospice volunteers can also work in the agency office doing various support projects.

Looking to provide relief and loving presence at the bedside during our patient's final hours? Vigil volunteers are special volunteers that help provide a loving presence at the bedside of hospice patients as they are approaching end-of-life. Vigil volunteers are requested when no family or loved ones are available or when family needs a break from the bedside. Special training is offered for this type of volunteering. Will also do in person training with a current vigil volunteer. Our Vet-to-Vet volunteer program is dedicated to providing care to our veteran patients and families that are living in this community. Volunteers help improve the quality of our patients lives through social interaction and companionship. Heartland Hospice is in need of volunteers with military background to join our team of caring professionals. Volunteers are matched up with a veteran that is currently receiving hospice services that would like friendly visits and additional companionship from another veteran. Fellow veterans may be able to relate to the life experiences of the hospice patient and share stories to help enrich the patient's life during those final months. In addition to social visits, veteran volunteers can assist with pinning ceremonies, Veteran's Day events and Dream Flights. Is your dog therapy certified, and you would like to brighten people's lives? Volunteers and their therapy certified dogs are needed to visit patients on Heartland Hospice Services. Volunteers and their therapy dogs provide companionship and social interaction for patients that enjoy animals and would like visitors. Alls dogs must be current on vaccines and certified as a pet therapy dog. Please contact Heartland Hospice if you have questions about the certification process. We are looking for individuals to sew patriotic themed quilts/lap blankets, memory bears and/or pillows upon request and fidget muffs or squares. Memory bears and pillow are made from sentimental clothing that belonged to the loved ones on our hospice services. We have memory bear patterns available.  Fidget muffs or squares are a muff or square that has various items on them that dementia patients can "fidget" with like buttons, string, beads and other items. Do you like clerical work in an office setting? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that can help you gain experience and skills to put on your resume? Administrative/office volunteers contribute to the Heartland Hospice mission by providing needed office support. Some of the office tasks include mailings, assembling folders, in-service packets, filing, and making copies. Administrative volunteers work at our Heartland Hospice office in Stevens Point. Veteran Volunteers Honor Our Patients

Something powerful happens when a Veteran Volunteer visits a Veteran patient. The shared experience, language and culture make Veteran patients feel comfortable letting down their guard. Many Veterans have held back memories from their families because they are worried that their civilian loved ones won't understand, but at the end of life, they feel the need to share with someone. A visit from a military brother or sister gives the patient respect, honor and peace.

Veterans share a bond that bridges generation, branches of service and experiences.

As Part of the We Honor Veterans Program, the Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Program provides camaraderie and companionship to Veteran patients. Veterans connect to each other in a unique way and benefit from that special fellowship.

Veteran Volunteers help support our efforts to honor our Veteran patients through individual honors ceremonies, community events, welcome home events, special projects, life review and more.

There is NO limit to the impact you can make as a Veteran Volunteer at Bristol Hospice. Volunteers typically serve about 1-2 hours a week, but the schedule and time commitment are up to you.

What Does It Take to Be a Volunteer?

Hospice volunteers get specialized training to prepare them for working with people that are at end of life. For Veteran Volunteers, this involves veteran-specific education. Because hospice volunteers are part of the hospice team, they complete background checks, drug tests and reference checks before being accepted into the volunteer program.

We're looking for volunteers who love working with kids. For our afterschool program, 1st through 5th graders will have 30 minutes Mondays through Thursdays to work on their homework.

The Stevens Point Auxiliary Police Unit is a volunteer unit who works directly with the Police Department in various aspects. Auxiliary Police help with community functions including providing traffic control for community events like Runs/Walks, they assist with community parades, Riverfront Rendezvous, and most community sporting events.

CMFDL is looking for someone handy in electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning (1 or all of the above!) to assist the Visitor Experience Manager with various projects.

Support Diverse & Resilient's mission to achieve health equity and improve the safety and well-being of LGBTQ people and communities in Wisconsin by hosting a supply drive for our anti-violence, community programs, or sexual health services! Various Items needed such as hygiene supplies, program / participant snacks, office supplies, etc. If you are interested in this opportunity, we will create an Amazon wishlist for you or your group. 

Project Homeless Connect is an annual event that brings resources and services together under one roof to best serve those experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Typically, over 500 guests and 400 volunteers attend Milwaukee Project Homeless Connect for this one day event. In Waukesha, over 100 volunteers support over 150 guests. Milwaukee has hosted this event since 2009, and Waukesha had its first event in 2019.

Bring your items for donation to Entrance A at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Reception Desk. Be sure to complete a donation form when dropping off (required).

Peace Meals are served by volunteers to our shelter residents. The Peace Dinners offer comfort, company, and healthy meals to residents staying in our emergency shelter. Small groups (6 maximum) plan and prepare a meal off-site, in a sterile environment, for 60 guests. The meal may be ordered from a restaurant as an option.  Meals are warmed up and served in our shelter kitchen. If the volunteer(s) are not able to stay to serve the meal, the meal can also be dropped off.

·       Sunday or Monday dinner

·       Prepare food off-site or order food for about 60 residents

·       Warm and serve food

·       Clean up

·       Plan to be here about 2-3 hours

·       Limit of 6 volunteers due to the size of the kitchen

·       Dinner arrival 4:30 PM

We ask that meals include:

·       Main entrée – due to allergy concerns, we ask that meals do not contain seafood. If your meal contains pork, please provide an alternative option in addition to the pork dish.

·       Vegetarian entrée

·       One or more side dishes

·       Fresh green salad

·       Fresh fruit

·       Bread/Rolls

·       Pre-portioned dessert (ice cream bars, cupcakes, cookies, pre-cut dessert bars, etc)

·       Beverages are optional. If your group chooses to bring one, please bring something other than soda (juice, decaf iced tea, fruit-infused water, etc)

Once your interest is submitted, you will receive an email from Sojourner's Volunteer Coordinator to schedule a date.

Multiple tasks need an extra set of hands from a volunteer group. The tasks are chosen based on the agency’s needs for that day.

Do you have a passion for helping older adults in our community or creating connections to healthy foods? You can accomplish both by joining MCC as a Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Senior Stockbox Intake Volunteer by helping connect low-income adults aged 60 years and older to free monthly food packages.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Senior Stockbox Intake Volunteers will be responsible for taking attendance of individuals receiving Stockboxes, maintaining confidentiality of client information and records, and intaking new participants.

Please note that this is the first step of the volunteer application process. Before your first volunteer shift, you must complete the MCC application and have this processed with the MCC Volunteer Coordinator, Arlene Gonzalez. Journey Together Service Dog is seeking volunteers to help provide public access experiences for our puppies.  Since our dogs receive the majority of training at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution, there are a number of experiences they can not receive in a prison setting.  Our community volunteers take dogs on outings to help the dog gain the life experiences that are essential for a highly trained service dog.

As a volunteer for the program, you contact us when you are available to work with a dog.  Some volunteers only take a dog on an outing for a couple of hours, some do a full day and some take a dog for multiple days.  Some of our volunteers work with a dog every week, some do it a couple times a month.  Volunteers have the option of going on group outings or taking a dog by themselves.

Volunteers go through orientation and then go on outings with our trainers who will help you learn how to handle the dogs and proper etiquette for taking dogs to stores, restaurants or other public locations.

We have many families who volunteer together.  This allows the children  to work with the dog while an adult is present.  

Do you love sports? Want to help kids learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our fall sports leagues. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of various sports (flag football, volleyball, soccer and basketball), good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games.

Flag Football & Volleyball - season runs from end of August through end of October. Team practices are held for one hour on a weeknight and games are on Saturdays.

Soccer- season runs from beginning of September through beginning of October. Teams practice and play one weeknight a week. U6 and U8 divisions. League takes place on Tuesday and Thursday.

Basketball- season runs from middle of October through middle of December. Team practices are held for one hour on a weeknight and games are on Saturdays.

Whether you have zero free time, or loads of it - this is the ideal volunteer opportunity that works around your unique schedule!  Friends are matched based on similar interests to adults with disabilities to form inclusive friendships in our communities.  Getting together twice a month is the average time which can look like: grabbing coffee, cooking a meal, going to a movie, watching or playing a sport, attend a local community event, whatever it might be that you enjoy!  This isn't something you HAVE to do - it's someone that you GET to do life with!

Volunteers are needed to help greet and direct visitors at the Oakwood Village University Woods Skilled Nursing building on Sundays, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, a minimum of twice a month.  In addition, volunteers will also help with basic clerical projects to fill in time while at the front desk.

A third volunteer is also needed to help at the Skilled Nursing front desk once or a couple times a month on Saturdays, 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

Scheduling is flexible for both days.

Interested volunteers need to get registered for placement set up.

Volunteers are needed to help the Oakwood Village University Woods Therapy Department staff to bring residents in wheelchairs for therapy appointments and to put next-day appointments on in-room whiteboards for residents.

Volunteers need to help bring residents to the Therapy Department a minimum of once a week, Monday-Friday, in the morning, 8:15 am-12:15 pm, or in the afternoon, 12:45-1:00-3:30 pm.  Volunteers that help put resident next-day appointments on in-room boards need to help once a week, Monday-Friday, 2:30-3:00 pm.

Interested volunteers need to get registered for placement set up.

Make a difference in the lives of your neighbors, build relationships, and have fun as an English tutor! We are working with a group of 25 extremely motivated adults and need to add a class for intermediate learners. 

We're looking for a volunteer to teach one evening per week for 1-1.5 hours. 

No need to know any other languages or for teaching experience. We provide training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support.

We are looking for some help at our front desk/check out area. Our most immediate need in on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm-5pm and Saturday afternoons from 12 - 4pm. We also would like to fill a few more "floater" cashier positions. These are volunteers who step in to fill in for our regularly scheduled volunteers when they need time off. Retail experience would be helpful for these positions, but not necessary. We are always happy to train new volunteers! Volunteer by yourself or bring a friend with you! We love dynamic duos at Echoes!

The Food Pantry Stocking Assistant helps maintain a well-stocked, clean, and organized pantry space, including storage areas, shelves, and refrigerators/freezers.

Help Keep West Bend Beautiful by volunteering with Roots and Branches!

Are you interested in helping plant, water or maintain the BEAUTIFUL gardens around the West Bend Community? Roots and Branches oversees gardens on Oak Street, Barton gardens and the garden beds in downtown West Bend. While the growing season has come to a close for 2024, we are actively signing folks up for 2025! If you are interested in learning how YOU can help keep our community blooming, let us know! The time commitment ranges from 12 hours a season to 40 hours depending on your availability and the size of the garden.

Are you looking for a way to help your community with a flexible schedule? MCC is looking for community members to host food drives in support of our Emergency Food Pantry!

As a Food Drive Host, you will collect donations of non-perishable food items at your workplace, church, book club or your neighborhood and bring them to our Emergency Food Pantry. All donations are distributed to individuals in need who live on Milwaukee's southside. 

Food Drive Bins and Donation pick-ups are available upon request. Once you sign up, we will be in touch to share our current most needed items and set up a time to connect about supplies.

We are seeking volunteers to bake Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and assist with sales. Sales occur every Tuesday of the month, shifts available at 8 am to 11 am and/or 11 am to 2 pm. Volunteers do not have to be available each Tuesday.

Every month we make care packages for our B.A.B.E.S families. We are looking for committed monthly volunteers who would be interested in making care packages. These packages include essential items such as hygiene products, diapers and other necessities.

Because of rising costs, our members with mental health issues need help replenishing their cupboards with food.

Become a Certified Children's Vision Screener! Help us identify children with potential vision problems and set them on the road to healthy vision through children's vision screenings in your community.

Founded in 1958 by a group of dedicated volunteers, Prevent Blindness Wisconsin's mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight in Wisconsin communities. We envision a Wisconsin where everyone enjoys a lifetime of healthy vision and we work toward this goal by providing free, direct sight-saving services, such as vision screenings, throughout the state.

Volunteers help with vision screenings at schools and childcare centers throughout Ozaukee County that otherwise do not have the capacity to screen the children at their schools and centers. All volunteers are required to attend a Prevent Blindness Wisconsin sponsored Children's Vision Screener Training. The training will go over how to vision screen school-age and preschool age children and the last step is to attend a short virtual volunteer orientation. The children’s vision screening certification is good for 3 years. No previous experience with health care or vision screenings is necessary. This is an opportunity for individual adults, teens and small groups (maximum size of 5).

Volunteers are required to complete and pass a background check and Children’s Vision Screener Training before volunteering. To sign up for our online training, please email Breanna at breanna@pbwi.org for the sign-up link.

Time commitment: Vision screenings typically take place on weekday mornings. Depending on classroom size, screenings take between 1 and 3 hours. Vision screening start in September and go through May.

Hannah Center's Caring Closet in Marshfield serves the communities throughout Wood and surrounding counties with all things babies. We get calls everyday for community members and agencies with clients in need. Things that go very fast and are ongoing needs are diapers and wipes of all sizes.

Everyday needs such as food items are essential to the function of our house and caring for the families who call Hannah Center home. Staple products and especially meats are greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!

We’ll pair you up with a buddy in Ukraine for weekly videochats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you’ll practice English with your partner, learn about each other’s cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

No teaching experience or knowledge of Ukrainian is required to volunteer with us. All of our participants can understand and hold a basic conversation in English. We offer ample training resources, session materials and total flexibility to customize your sessions to fit your/your partner’s goals and preferences. You’ll also have access to online communities to share ideas and ask questions.

A Delivery Team Volunteer assists with receiving and organizing food deliveries from our food bank and other partners. This position involves physically unloading deliveries from our food bank and assisting with the initial sorting and storage of donated items.

If you are passionate about sports and want to make a positive impact on our students, volunteer to be a coaching assistant! UCC Athletics is looking for volunteers to help with sports practice throughout the fall and spring semesters. Sports include volleyball, soccer, flag football and basketball.

Timing: Monday - Friday 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and/ or occasional Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 11: a.m. Commitment of at least 2 days a week required.

Youth Sports at the Y are game-based programs that teach children (ages 4-14 years) the fundamentals and rules of an individual sport.  The Y also incorporates character development into the program for each sport. Sport schedules rotate throughout the year and include times for basketball, tennis, football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball.

The Y seeks to meet the needs of all of our members at whatever their level. One of our special, long-time members needs help moving around our weight room and from machine to machine while he exercises.

The Personal Assistant Volunteer (aged 18 years or older) is not expected to train or physically assist the member, but to set the machine at the correct weight, and height, and to spend time talking to and getting to know the member. Patience, a good sense of humor, a caring heart, and a desire to help is key in this position. This is the perfect opportunity for volunteers who are outgoing & energetic!

Volunteers must commit to volunteering at a minimum of once a week for about 1-2 hours each week. Volunteers will work with the member to set the schedule, but typically help is needed between 10 AM - 1 PM most weekdays.

Help our staff in the PREP/PACU area.  Volunteers will assemble linen bags, make beds, fill blanket warmers, and assist the staff by preparing materials prior to a patient's surgery.  Choose 1 day a week for 3 hours.  Hours of service are Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8-11 AM.

This position is set for an "as needed" basis as patients turn to their final hours. Emails and/or calls go out to our Vigil Volunteers about sign-up times in collaboration with the health care team. Volunteers can simply let us know they are unavailable at that time without repercussion.

Friendly Visitors are our companion volunteers who bring the gift of friendship to our clients. Friendly Visitors visit patients at facilities and their homes--wherever they are located--and we match volunteers to patients located nearest to them.

These volunteer-patient matches enhance quality of life through regular visits by offering support, companionship and assistance with non-medical tasks to ensure that patients spend their final days in dignity and comfort. We match volunteers with patients based on interests and location and require a visiting frequency of at LEAST one 60-minute visit per month. The commitment is rather minimal but means the entire world to a person nearing end-of-life. Hours are flexible to work with your schedule.

The ADRC of Sheboygan County provides Health & Wellness Outreach to senior citizens throughout the county.  Volunteer Leaders attend training for the workshop they are interested in leading, at no cost.  Programs include: Tai Chi (two different programs), Falls Prevention, Walking, Strength Training, and Technology (how to use a smartphone, etc.), among others.  Programs are scheduled at the discretion of the volunteer and community needs.  Volunteer may also assist with program marketing and related office duties.  Mileage reimbursement provided for training and program facilitation.  Both in-person and virtual training/delivery are available for most programs.

Day by Day has openings for Front Desk assistance. Shifts are available from 9a-11a, 11a-1p, and 1p-3p Monday - Thursday each week. This position is great for someone taking classes, as the main responsibility is listening for and answering the door. Additional tasks available by request, but we won't tell if you're really here to watch Netflix and avoid your kids for a few hours in between the doorbell.

When Day by Day does not have a meal team, meal is provided by the Shelter. Our guests favorite Shelter provided meal is Casserole Smorgasbord. If you make a casserole for your family, consider making a second and dropping off at Day by Day. We will happily freeze to use for a future meal.

The Jefferson Food Pantry is seeking volunteers to assist with receiving food, stocking shelves, and other critical roles to support our mission to nourish our community.

Tar sands pipelines carry some of the dirtiest, most energy intensive and toxic fuels on the planet. We have several of them in Wisconsin, and right now we're fighting to shut down tar sands Line 5 in northern Wisconsin which is threatening the homelands and waters of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. This is their sovereign territory, yet Enbridge has refused for over a decade to remove the pipeline as asked, and instead are proposing a reroute that would put many more lands and waters at risk. Join our fight to protect indigenous people's and their rights by joining our tar sands team and help organize and generate more public opposition to this dirty pipeline. It's time to put people and the planet ahead of profits!

We are looking for help to distribute Line 5 yard signs so people can show their support. Another project is to set a world's record for making origami fish to support shutting down Line 5 - "Oil and water don't mix!" (See opportunity description for "Assembling origami fish".)

Horse leaders control the equine during therapy and adaptive riding sessions and, with direction from the therapist or instructor, and are responsible for maintaining a safe and effective session. Horse leaders must have previous horse experience through riding lessons, owning or leasing a horse, or other comparable experiences. Depending upon level of experience, duties may include leading the equine during sessions, grooming, tacking and untacking, bringing in or turning out horses, basic barn chores, and other duties as needed. All prospective horse leaders must complete orientation and a horse leader assessment.

Side walkers walk alongside the horse and rider and assist in keeping that rider safe during their session. Following direction from a therapist, side walkers may be asked to engage with their riders and assist in therapeutic activities unique to each rider. Side walkers also assist in sanitizing equipment after each session, including helmets, belts, toys, and therapy equipment.

Shifts: 10:30 am-7:00 pm (Mondays), 11:30 am-6:00 pm (Tuesdays), 9:00 am-7:00 pm (Wednesdays), and 10:00 am-7:00 pm (Thursdays). Minimum age: 14.

Help start the new school year on the right foot for children in Milwaukee by hosting a school supply drive. We are in need of over 400 backpacks and school supply sets for students throughout Milwaukee. 

Items of greatest need are backpacks, notebooks, loose leaf paper, composition notebooks, pencils, pens, and folders. Items will given to young people who participant in our youth develop, community violence prevention and Muskego Way Forward Programs. 

The Appleton YMCA-Service Club meets twice per month (September through April) at the Appleton YMCA. Members develop a program schedule, which includes community speakers, Y staff presentations orienting members to Y programs, social events and planning fundraising events to help the YMCA support innovative, impactful programming for youth, adults and families. Projects include: Childcare Playground projects (May/June), Camp Clean-ups (May/August), Christmas Tree Sale (November/December), and Pancake Breakfast (February). 

Appleton, Fox West, Heart of the Valley and Neenah-Menasha YMCA locations are looking for your help! Youth Sports Coaches provide skill development in a variety of sport leagues. Work with our youth to instill our character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Provide these young athletes with a good role model for sportsmanship and teamwork. Sports include: Baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, t-ball, track and field and volleyball.

League days include Saturdays and/or weeknights, 2-6 hours per week for 6-8 week sessions. Background check is required. 

Appleton YMCA Early Learning Center would welcome volunteers to read to the children or lead an art project. Times available on any Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 9-11 AM. Staff will provide reading and art materials, we just need your energy and smiles!

Faith in Action Marathon County (FIAMC) assists seniors 60 and older in Marathon County to stay safely in their homes. We provide them with transportation to Medical Appointments, Grocery Stores, General Shopping, and Personal Rides. We also offer Food Pantry Delivery and Friendly Visits in person or via phone.

We need a Volunteer to assist with our Intake Process. This role offers flexibility, as the Home Visit can be conducted in person or over the phone, allowing volunteers to contribute in a way that suits their schedule. The Intake Volunteer will assess the care recipient's needs and determine whether our program fits well. Blue Lotus is almost fully booked for the summer with groups who serve people with disabilities, seniors, those experiencing economic hardship, and many others who have life challenges. These outings occur seven days a week, during the day and in the evening.

This means we need plenty of volunteers to help ensure our guests have a fun, relaxing and safe experience. Come and enjoy time outdoors with guests who will certainly touch your heart.  If you can help us for even one day, you will make a difference.
