Hello!  We're looking for a volunteer to take blood pressure readings for participants at the Junction City Dining Site at Park Lodge 224 Park Ave on the 1st or 3rd Thursday of the month.  Readings typically take place from 11:15am-12:15pm.  Equipment may be provided, or you may use your own.  If you are qualified and interested please get in touch, our senior participants really appreciate this service!

Position Summary

The Communications Intern will assist with increasing visibility of and interaction with Canopy Center and its work. With the Communications & Event Planning Assistant, they will develop content for the agency's social media outlets and assist with fundraising efforts, event publicity, and community outreach. This includes taking and editing photos and video, creating graphics and assisting with tasks related to fundraising and outreach events. They will also assist in generating new ideas for content and will have input on future marketing initiatives for the agency and its programs.

This is a Spring semester internship.

Literacy Services of Wisconsin is looking for an inviting, organized, and informative individual to cover front desk shifts at our downtown location when our staff is unable to cover. The volunteer would need to be informed on the different educational services LSW offers and the different goings on of the office.  

This is an “as needed” position without a regular weekly schedule. Volunteers will be notified when coverage is needed and work the front desk for those specific shifts.

The House Helper volunteer position involves assisting with household tasks, and aiding the residents of Vida’s maternity home, Trinity House. The role of a House Helper is a unique position in which female volunteers are able to develop relationships with moms and children alike. This particular role requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young children. Volunteers also need to be able to be examples of God’s love and speak of God’s truth and grace.

The Charles F. Fernandez Center for Alternative Learning is looking for Wood Working Shop Mentors.  

Job Parameters: 1 to 2 days per week.  1 to 2 hour sessions, approximately 9am-10am and/or 1pm-2pm.

Job Description/Responsibilities: Work one-on-one with students(age 13-18) on a variety of woodworking projects with the goal of encouraging students to develop self-esteem, confidence, pride, and patience.

Required Qualifications/Skills: Some knowledge of woodworking and power tools; attention to safety issues and housekeeping.  Ability to work with at-risk students; be non-judgmental, patient, open minded, flexible, and compassionate.  Ability to adjust to interruptions, occasional disrespect, and challenging behaviors.  Ability to maintain confidentiality, understanding that all information learned about a student must be kept confidential.

If you are handy but lack experience doing wood-working specifically our volunteers are happy to train you.

We Need You!  Did you know that there are almost 40,000 cases of cancer diagnosed in the state of Wisconsin each year?  Here at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital - UW Cancer Center we do our part to support and comfort our local families dealing with a cancer diagnosis.  One way that the broader community can help is to create Chemo Care Kits to give to patients that receive their treatment here at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital - UW Cancer Center.  These kits are a real blessing for those receiving treatment.  They show care of the broader community, provide comfort, keep them 'entertained' during treatments and some items help 'overcome' impacts from the treatment. 

Chemo Care Kits can include such items as: hand sanitizer, warm fuzzy socks, hand warmers, sleep/eye masks, lotion, Lemon Drops, Crossword/Word Find puzzle books, journals, magazines, adult coloring books, color pencils/crayons, any items that can provide comfort or entertainment to the patient.  A small bag to store all of these items is super convenient.  Many of these items can be found at Dollar Tree or Dollar General.  

Can you find a way to 'rally the troops' and help us to help our cancer patients by joining our Campaign Chemo Care Kits Project today?  Your neighbors will be most appreciative.  

Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital Knitter/Crocheter Project.  

If you are a knitter/crocheter, would you consider making a shawl (or two)? Baby hats/booties?  These shawls/hats/booties are given to patients of Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital.  Patients may be from our UW Cancer Center in Wisconsin Rapids, the Dialysis Center or in our Family Birthplace.  To assure that we keep a supply of these beautiful hand-crafted items on hand we need to keep knitting/crocheting.

Because these items are being given to patients receiving medical treatment there are a few criteria that need to be met:        Items must be knit/crocheted in a non-smoking environment;

                      Items need to be made from machine washable and dryable yarn.

                      Rectangular shawls should measure approximately 24” by 60”.

                      Triangular shawls should measure approximately 60” across the top.

                      Shawl must not be fringed.

                      Softer yarns are best for infant items.

Are you seeking an opportunity to transform your past experiences into a positive influence on the lives of young people? Did you have run-ins with law enforcement and the criminal justice system as a youth? Did you unintentionally or intentionally cause emotional, physical, financial, or mental harm to family or friends as a youth?  If so, we have a powerful opportunity for you to share your history, your experience, and the lessons you've learned with a group of teens who are in need of guidance.

Youth Empowerment and Accountability is a Waukesha County Program that provides comprehensive support to youth who have been referred by the criminal justice system. Our dedicated social workers work with these youth for over 6-7 weeks, teaching them accountability, victim empathy/ awareness, and empowerment to make better life choices.

One way we do this is by having volunteers who experienced a similar start to their lives as youth share their own stories. Volunteer Speakers play a crucial role in shaping the future of these youth by sharing their stories, including any time they spent with the criminal justice system, the consequences of their actions felt by themselves and others, the impact the decisions they made as a youth had on their lives, and the lessons they learned.

Volunteers are expected to commit to speaking 2-4 times per year. The group is led by Social Workers on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The speaking months for 2025 are January, April, July, and October, with some flexibility on the date the volunteer speaks within that month. Volunteers address a group of 3-10 youth for approximately 30 minutes.

Volunteer speakers should be prepared to answer questions about their experience, have a passion for working with and supporting positive change in youth, demonstrate maturity and dependability, and be comfortable effectively working with diverse populations.

Bristol Hospice is seeking musicians of all kinds to visit with our patients and play and/or sing to/with them in a one-on-one setting. 

As a Music Therapy Hospice Volunteer, you will provide compassionate care and emotional support to our patients through music. You will use your musical talents to enhance the quality of life for patients nearing the end of life, offering comfort, relaxation, and emotional expression. This role involves working closely with the hospice care team to address the emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Music Therapy: Play live music (vocals, guitar, piano, etc.) or curated playlists for hospice patients to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and offer emotional comfort.

Sorting donations weekly.  Food, clothing, supplies are donated regularly.  Looking for volunteers to come in regularly to sort donations and  and put them away. Training is provided.

Are you passionate about recycling and looking for a way to make a direct impact on your community's green footprint? Join us as a Mobile Volunteer with Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste!

We need volunteers to help tag contaminated recycling carts. You’ll be part of a team following behind recycling trucks as they pick up curbside carts. When the driver spots items that shouldn't be in the recycling—such as plastic bags, scrap metal, electronics, or other dangerous materials—they’ll radio back to us, and you’ll place an “Oops Tag” on the cart to notify the resident.

What You’ll Do:

You'll be accompanied by an Outagamie County staff member who will handle driving. This is a great chance to help improve local recycling efforts and make a positive environmental impact!

Junior Achievement has opportunities for every grade K-12 throughout the school year. Classes range from (1) half day, (1) full day, once weekly for 30 minutes for 6 weeks. We are able to place volunteers in specific schools/classes if requested. All JA volunteers are given an orientation and a kit with necessary materials for each session.

Our 2025 concert season is coming to an end on May 4th. We will still perform at events during the summer: Memorial Day ceremony at the end of the Appleton Parade; Symphony Under the Stars at the ballpark; Bike to the Beat in Kimberly; and more. All males who enjoy singing are welcome to visit with us at any of these events to discuss membership.

Otherwise, our annual Season Opener / New Member recruitment picnic is August 25th, 2025 to begin the 2026 season, a particularly special season for us and the United States. Next year marks the 250th anniversary, or "Semiquincentennial", of our country's founding via the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And, we are going to celebrate by inviting hundreds of men who are members of the choruses that make up the Association of Male Choruses of America to perform a "BIG SING" with us in Appleton. You will want to be part of this monumental event!

For MacDowell new members, our Director holds Voice Placement sessions from 6:45 to 7:00 pm before the regular Monday rehearsals. Tryouts are no-stress; you don’t need to prepare beforehand. This meeting allows the conductor to determine your vocal range. The two of you will decide your voice: 1st tenor, 2nd tenor, baritone, or bass. 

We rehearse every Monday evening after Labor Day, starting at 7:00 P.M. in the Appleton St. Francis Xavier High School chorus room. The year concludes with the annual business meeting in mid-May, and we enjoy a short summer break.

MacDowell’s diverse membership spans a variety of musical experiences, with most members residing in the Fox Cities of Wisconsin, from Green Bay to Waupaca to Oshkosh to Whitelaw, and all communities in between. Although we hail from all walks of life, our common interests of camaraderie, community, and love of singing have made us a unified group for 92 years.

Ideally, new members join in the fall to prepare for the Spring Concert Season. However, we would like to encourage interested candidates to visit any rehearsal to learn the chorus details. If joining later in the year, they may be non-performing members to become full-performing members the following season.

Do you care about access to healthful fresh hot meals for our community?   If you have at least two hours a week, you can give to this cause. You may be just the hero we’re looking for! 

We’re searching for Meal Delivery Heroes to deliver fresh hot meals to community members who would not otherwise have access. On the job, you’ll pick up pre-packed meals prepared by the Food and Nutrition Services staff of the hospital, organized for you to deliver them to 5-15 locations on nearby pre-established routes.  We need volunteers who can commit to at least one scheduled shift per week taking place on Monday through Friday.

Aspirus Cancer Care in Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to be a welcoming presence for our Cancer Center patients and visitors.  Greeting patients and their family/friends as they await appointments or while receiving treatment provides comfort to those we serve.  Offering refreshments of coffee, tea, water or hot chocolate to patients/visitors can relieve their stress.  Keeping our infusion area prepped and ready for later patients helps the staff be more present to their current patients.  All of these small, caring tasks are a welcome reprieve in a potentially stressful time - are you being called to be this caring presence?   Clearance of health and background check screening will be necessary prior to being scheduled for a shift.  Call today to get your packet and get your process started.

For many Veterans, the opportunity to share their stories can be fulfilling and often contributes a sense of fellowship, life closure and peace. They feel connected by hearing other Veteran stories. They gain validation and understanding in a very special way from another Veteran.

We are looking for a sweet therapy dog who you think would do well with visiting with our hospice patients. Under our pet therapy program, your specially trained dog would be able to provide companionship to our patients. Pet companionship can bring our patients a sense of peace, comfort and trust.

Dog temperament requirements:

Pet therapy volunteer program requirements: Owner must complete patient volunteer orientation.

Pet and owner must be registered with a nationally recognized animal organization (see below). Acceptable Therapy Dog Registration Organizations: Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Inc, Pet Partners, and Therapy Dogs International.

We are looking for individuals to sew patriotic themed quilts/lap blankets, memory bears and/or pillows upon request and fidget muffs or squares. Memory bears and pillow are made from sentimental clothing that belonged to the loved ones on our hospice services. We have memory bear patterns available.  Fidget muffs or squares are a muff or square that has various items on them that dementia patients can "fidget" with like buttons, string, beads and other items. Peace Meals are served by volunteers to our shelter residents. The Peace Dinners offer comfort, company, and healthy meals to residents staying in our emergency shelter. Small groups (6 maximum) plan and prepare a meal off-site, in a sterile environment, for 60 guests. The meal may be ordered from a restaurant as an option.  Meals are warmed up and served in our shelter kitchen. If the volunteer(s) are not able to stay to serve the meal, the meal can also be dropped off.

·       Sunday or Monday dinner

·       Prepare food off-site or order food for about 60 residents

·       Warm and serve food

·       Clean up

·       Plan to be here about 2-3 hours

·       Limit of 6 volunteers due to the size of the kitchen

·       Dinner arrival 4:30 PM

We ask that meals include:

·       Main entrée – due to allergy concerns, we ask that meals do not contain seafood. If your meal contains pork, please provide an alternative option in addition to the pork dish.

·       Bread/Rolls

·       Pre-portioned dessert (ice cream bars, cupcakes, cookies, pre-cut dessert bars, etc)

You can accomplish both by joining MCC as a Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Senior Stockbox Intake Volunteer by helping connect low-income adults aged 60 years and older to free monthly food packages.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Senior Stockbox Intake Volunteers will be responsible for taking attendance of individuals receiving Stockboxes, maintaining confidentiality of client information and records, and intaking new participants.

Please note that this is the first step of the volunteer application process. Before your first volunteer shift, you must complete the MCC application and have this processed with the MCC Volunteer Coordinator, Arlene Gonzalez. Generally, this process will take 1-2 business days upon your application.

Journey Together Service Dog is seeking volunteers to help provide public access experiences for our puppies.  Since our dogs receive the majority of training at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution, there are a number of experiences they can not receive in a prison setting.  Our community volunteers take dogs on outings to help the dog gain the life experiences that are essential for a highly trained service dog.

As a volunteer for the program, you contact us when you are available to work with a dog.  Some volunteers only take a dog on an outing for a couple of hours, some do a full day and some take a dog for multiple days.  Some of our volunteers work with a dog every week, some do it a couple times a month.  Volunteers have the option of going on group outings or taking a dog by themselves.

Volunteers go through orientation and then go on outings with our trainers who will help you learn how to handle the dogs and proper etiquette for taking dogs to stores, restaurants or other public locations.

We have many families who volunteer together.  This allows the children  to work with the dog while an adult is present.  

Do you love sports? Want to help kids learn to love it too? We have many volunteer opportunities for our fall sports leagues. Coaches are needed to teach the fundamentals of various sports (flag football, volleyball, soccer and basketball), good sportsmanship and to lead their teams in practice and in games.

Flag Football & Volleyball - season runs from end of August through end of October. Team practices are held for one hour on a weeknight and games are on Saturdays.

Soccer- season runs from beginning of September through beginning of October. Teams practice and play one weeknight a week. U6 and U8 divisions. League takes place on Tuesday and Thursday.

Basketball- season runs from middle of October through middle of December. Team practices are held for one hour on a weeknight and games are on Saturdays.

Volunteers are needed to help greet and direct visitors at the Oakwood Village University Woods Skilled Nursing building on Sundays, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, a minimum of twice a month.  In addition, volunteers will also help with basic clerical projects to fill in time while at the front desk.

A third volunteer is also needed to help at the Skilled Nursing front desk once or a couple times a month on Saturdays, 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

Scheduling is flexible for both days.

Interested volunteers need to get registered for placement set up.

Volunteers are needed to help the Oakwood Village University Woods Therapy Department staff to bring residents in wheelchairs for therapy appointments and to put next-day appointments on in-room whiteboards for residents.

Volunteers need to help bring residents to the Therapy Department a minimum of once a week, Monday-Friday, in the morning, 8:15 am-12:15 pm, or in the afternoon, 12:45-1:00-3:30 pm.  Volunteers that help put resident next-day appointments on in-room boards need to help once a week, Monday-Friday, 2:30-3:00 pm.

We're looking for a volunteer to teach one evening per week for 1-1.5 hours. 

No need to know any other languages or for teaching experience. We provide training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support.

We are looking for some help at our front desk/check out area. Our most immediate need in on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm-5pm and Saturday afternoons from 12 - 4pm. We also would like to fill a few more "floater" cashier positions. These are volunteers who step in to fill in for our regularly scheduled volunteers when they need time off. Retail experience would be helpful for these positions, but not necessary. We are always happy to train new volunteers! Volunteer by yourself or bring a friend with you! We love dynamic duos at Echoes!

The Food Pantry Stocking Assistant helps maintain a well-stocked, clean, and organized pantry space, including storage areas, shelves, and refrigerators/freezers.

Please note that this is the first step of the volunteer application process. Before your first volunteer shift, you must complete the MCC application and have this processed with the MCC Volunteer Coordinator, Arlene Gonzalez. Generally, this process will take 1-2 business days upon your application.
