Spring City Corner Clubhouse is a place that empowers individuals who are disabled by mental illness to achieve or retain the confidence and skills necessary to lead vocationally productive and socially satisfying lives.

We are in need of people to help us deep clean and wax flooring with your own machine.

This will require some heavy work. We could be flexible with time. This would take approximately 4 hours for 1-2 people. 

Yarn crafters we need YOU because knockers (knit or crochet) are needed by the Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital Cancer Center for our breast cancer patients.  Our local cancer center is seeking crafters that are willing to knit/crochet these soft, comfortable prosthetics for local breast cancer survivors. We are able to provide all of the instructions thanks to Knitted Knockers, a non-profit organization started by a breast cancer survivor in Washington state.  We need YOU and your yarn crafting friends to create this very needed item in our community.   

Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have had breast cancer and undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Traditional breast prosthetics can be hot, heavy and sticky, require special bras and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. These knockers are soft, beautiful, comfortable and they are washable.

We are recruiting a team of special volunteer knitters/crocheters to help create these knockers so that our local cancer center can provide them FREE to those requesting them.  For additional information contact Annmarie Ott, Volunteer Coordinator at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital.  Thank you in advance for your help.  This is a great way to show patients we care!

            The Chippewa Valley Museum has special events and programs throughout the year, and we rely on volunteers to make these happen. Upcoming opportunities include the following:

Folk Arts Festival - February 22, 2025 Be part of a vibrant world of folk arts and culture while enjoying live demos, talented artisans showcasing their craft, and hands-on activities for all ages. Talk to people in the know about things like fiber arts, wood turning and wood carving, beekeeping, puppetry, beadwork, blacksmithing, and more. There’ll also be music, activities for kids, and food available for purchase. Engage your curiosity throughout the whole campus!

Special events and programs volunteers help with larger or specialized events and programs, like Halloween Skelebrations or the Folk Arts Festival!

Love to work with people? Visitor service opportunities are perfect for those who value connecting with people and the community. The Chippewa Valley Museum needs volunteers to work at our Front Desk and in our Museum Store. The volunteer work will include greeting visitors, using a cash register to ring up sales and answering the phone.

The Chippewa Valley Museum is open 5-8PM on Tuesdays, 12-5PM Wednesday through Friday, and 10AM-5PM on Saturdays. We need someone at the front desk for all of these shifts!

You can volunteer weekly, biweekly, monthly, or just fill in as a sub every once in a while!

Everybody Bikes UA is seeking volunteers who are willing to help refurbish donated bikes that are awarded to community-members after a brief training. We can work around your schedule.

We're also open to volunteers willing to assist with our bike maintenance and training programs that occur on Friday mornings at the Library. You don’t have to be mechanically inclined or familiar with bicycle repair to help!  

We are looking for a compassionate volunteer who is bilingual and speaks both Hmong and English. We have a Hmong resident who is wanting to speak in her native language and meet a good friend. This volunteer would ideally spend 1-hour a week with our resident, be an active listener to any needs, and engage in any activity (baking/cooking, gardening, bingo, cards, manicures, etc.) that the resident may wish to partake in.

Requirements include: Volunteer must be an adult (18 years or older) and must be bilingual in both Hmong and English languages.

LuCille Tack Center stage hands help with preparing stage for the performance scheduled. The need involves helping set the stage for the performance. Helping performers to unload their equipment and directing them to the stage and performance area. Volunteers should be prepared to be able to lift 50 pounds, walk and climb stairs.

The Hospitality Team is responsible for providing food for performers at the LuCille Tack Center on day of the performance. Details vary by performance and will be provided in advance to volunteers. Volunteers should be prepared to set up, serve and clean up at the completion of the meal.

Looking to get your steps in? Help us run carts to clients’ cars as they come through the pantry line. You will be responsible for grabbing carts out of the queued line and bringing them up to cars in the drive through. Once the food has been loaded into the car, you will also grab the empty cart and return it to the cart re-loaders. (Some shifts have two volunteers in this position.)

Is a fast paced and engaging environment your jam? Then this might be the job for you! Help us load shopping carts with food to pass out in the drive through. This would include lifting boxes and bags into carts and then placing the carts into a queue to be distributed. You will also help and replenish supply from the back by helping to grab milk and bring up miscellaneous carts of prepped groceries. The ability to lift up to 20lbs is required for this position. 

Do you love math, social studies, science, or just helping kids? We are looking for volunteers to help our small group of middle schoolers complete their schoolwork, practice their math skills, or support their STEAM activities.

As a Community Care Courier, you'll be the friendly face delivering groceries to food pantry clients who have difficulty getting a ride to the pantry, especially in the colder months. Your role is more than just delivery—it's about bringing a little extra kindness and ensuring that neighbors in need have access to nutritious food with a smile. You'll be a vital link between the pantry and the community, helping to make a real difference in people's lives. Delivery drivers will be a part of a team and will have access to the CCH transport van, or be reimbursed at the federal charitable rate. Must be 18 or older to volunteer. All drivers must have a valid license. Scheduling is flexible and can be adjusted in the event of inclement weather.

·         Present the Bingocize Course as developed by Dr. Jason Crandall, Ph.D., EP-C, Western Kentucky University. The curriculum includes a Facilitator Guide and Participant Workbook for ease of delivery and use during the volunteer experience.

·         The facilitator must have a passion for working with older adults.

·         The facilitator should be comfortable leading small groups of 15 older adults.

·         The facilitator must be a self-starter who can take charge of the Bingocize program and work effectively with a co-facilitator.

·         The facilitator must be willing to make a commitment to the 10-week course schedule at least once annually. (Program is 1 hour twice a week for 10 weeks)  

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Preference for a current or retired health care professional, social worker, health educator, fitness expert or aging network professional.

·         The candidate should be willing to make a 2-year commitment to the program.

·         Willingness to share personal experiences to help motivate others to exercise and use the skills tools provided in the workshop.

·         Demonstrate timely response to project requirements.

·         Ability to perform additional duties as required by the Bingocize program and agreed upon with the Prevention Coordinator.

·         1- hour ADRC Volunteer Orientation

·         1-hour online training

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Gain hands-on experience in promoting health to students and parents in the community by helping coordinate and assist school garden education sessions and recipe demonstrations at local elementary schools. We are looking for 3-4 interns for this upcoming semester. Together with the GROW board, other interns, and volunteers you will lead an essential role in providing community nutrition education, along with assisting our program directors in garden education sessions and recipe demonstration, interns will also enhance their experiences when coordinating volunteers, overseeing garden maintenance, building relationships, evaluating programs, documenting, and community organizing.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Approximately 6-8 hrs/wk totaling a minimum of 90 hours for the semester. Some interns have taken this as an independent study and received credit. Nutrition programming and meetings can be planned around intern’s schedule as long as 5 hours a week are during elementary school hours (8am-3pm). Other requirements can be done throughout each week as you have time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Nutrition/Sustainability Education Interns will be responsible for assisting the program directors with garden classes, helping facilitate garden maintenance tasks and organization of produce getting from garden to cafeteria or classroom, and assisting with volunteer coordination; in addition to weekly meetings with your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, is comfortable working with children, has experience coordinating and working with volunteers, and the ability to get from their house to each school - the furthest one is 3.5 miles from UWL campus. Nutrition and garden knowledge is preferred.

Come join us for a creative arts club designed to teach participants the basics of connecting with others through theater activities with the integration of arts, music, movement, and hands on learning experiences. Each session will be thematic in nature and will provide participants with exposure to new learning, and time to practice and showcase their newly learned skills.

Volunteer Role:

Volunteers will be working directly with the participants serving as a "coach" to help them be as fully involved in the club as possible.  A coaching session for volunteers will start at 9:30 just prior to the club session to best prepare the volunteer to support the participants.  Since volunteers will be working directly with our kids, this is a two-part registration process.  Please make sure that we have correct contact information so that we can confirm your registration and pass along important details.

Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is in need of a passenger van that can haul both bikes and kids! A Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, or Dodge Promaster are ideal. We would need a van with tracks so seats can be removed for hauling bikes. We will use this vehicle to transport youth to our Bike Mechanics classes at the bike center, we'll use it to attend events, and we'll use it to haul bicycles. 

Bike Center Hours: Mon, Wed & Thurs 10-5pm; Fri 10-4pm. We are closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Gather your colleagues, friends, and neighbors to make a difference for the people that rely on Bike For Kids Wisconsin's services. Between October through March, your team will tour the largest bike center in Wisconsin, assist with mission-critical tasks, and help refurbish bicycles. Mission-critical tasks can include cleaning bikes, reorganizing bikes, organizing bike parts, loading bikes into trucks, and more!

Refreshments will be provided.

Group volunteer experiences occur on Fridays between 10:00 am – 3:30 pm (depending on which option you select). We have two time slots available to best suit your group.

Small Team For groups up to 6 people

2-hour session, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

We are looking for volunteers to assist our Recreation Therapy Department with afternoon programs on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. Volunteers are not required to do every afternoon program that is scheduled but can choose which dates work best for them. Many pregnant women and new moms in Milwaukee County are in crisis. The WCS Maternal Health Improvement Team serves pregnant women, new moms and their families. Our team works one-on-one with women to support them as they work to achieve their recovery and related goals. This includes connecting them with the medical, mental health, and substance use treatment services they need, as well as working with them to find safe and affordable housing, healthy and affordable food options, clothing, transportation, and other basic resources they need to be healthy and thrive. We have found that new moms who take part in our programming are in significant need of diapers and wipes for their infants and toddlers.

If your team would like to make a difference in the lives of new moms and their children, please consider hosting a Diaper and Diapering Supplies Drive! A baby typically uses 2,500 diapers in a year.  Perhaps your team could consider sponsoring one woman with 2,500 diapers or even five women with a gift of 12,500 diapers!

Our moms will benefit greatly if they don’t have to worry about having enough diapers to keep a baby clean, dry, and healthy, and can focus on prioritizing their health and the well-being of their families. Art in Recovery is held on the first and third Friday of each month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. If you are an artisan willing to share/teach others the how-to, we invite you to select a Friday to join us at the center. Bluff Country Family Resources, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) dedicated to providing high-quality services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Houston County, MN, and surrounding communities. We began as Houston County Women's Resources in 1984. Information about our specific program services is located on the program’s website at bluffcountry.org.

Our mission at BCFR is to provide community education and non-judgmental, confidential crisis intervention, advocacy, support, and resources to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and those experiencing housing insecurity due to violence.

Board Member Responsibilities

Serve a minimum of one (2) two-year term on the Board. After the initial two-year term, members have the option to re-commit to their directorship on a year-by-year basis for up to a total of 6 years. 

Attend all board meetings. 

Dedicate 1-2 hours of volunteer time per month to BCFR as a director, 3-6 hours per month for executive committee members. 

Review executive director performance and compensation on an annual basis. 

The Board of Directors has two subcommittees. Each board member is expected to participate in at least one (1) of these subcommittees. Subcommittees should meet at least once between board meetings and be prepared to present updates.

Stay informed about board matters, come prepared for meetings, review and comment on minutes and reports, review and approve policies, and discuss and vote on issues that affect the organization. 

Advocate for the organization by adhering to bylaws, policies, and procedures, and understanding our mission, ongoing activities, services, finances, and operating environment. 

Actively engage in creating and carrying out the strategic plan and organizational goals.

Eating together is so valuable! Every Tuesday at 5 PM Lighthouse Recovery Community Center hosts a family dinner for peers connected with LRCC. This family dinner often serves 7-20 people. We invite individuals or small groups (2-6 people max) to prepare a meal. Preparation may be done onsite, or off. Serving and sharing in the meal are welcome, though optional. This is a wonderful way to get to know the peers and staff. Time commitment may range from 3-5 hours, depending on the meal. The onsite time commitment is much less if you decide to make the meal ahead and drop it off. Occasionally there is the opportunity to prepare a "holiday meal" that we share on an alternate day.

Team members work to educate our community on food-related issues, skills, and resources. They also determine what educational content aligns with New Leaf Foods’s mission, goals and values.

Lasata Care Center is looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable and dedicated to helping our residents and participating in activities.  In general, volunteering for an activity would take about one hour and 45 minutes of one's time.  Assistance is needed monthly during devotional hours.

Lutheran Worship--Second and Fourth Thursdays of the month at 3pm

Catholic Devotional hour with St. Francis Borgia--First Friday of the month at 10 am.

We are in need of caring volunteers who would like to make a difference in the lives of people facing the end of their life. Specifically, we are looking for compassionate people to provide companionship and support to patients, particularly veterans, with limited visitors that want more social interaction on an ongoing basis. This may include listening to life stories, playing music, playing cards, or holding hands.

As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.

Hello!  We're looking for a volunteer to take blood pressure readings for participants at the Rosholt Senior Dining Site at the Legion Hall 290 Grand Ave once per month, on the 2nd or 4th Thursday of the month and the Junction City Dining Site at Park Lodge 224 Park Ave on the 1st or 3rd Thursday of the month.  Readings typically take place from 11:15am-12:15pm.  Equipment may be provided, or you may use your own.  If you are qualified and interested please get in touch, our senior participants really appreciate this service!

Our volunteers may perform some of the following services to enrich the lives of our patient:

Habitat is looking for groups to help out with interior painting of our new and rehab homes. We have several upcoming dates that we could use 10-14 people to help with these ongoing needs. Email angied@foxcitieshbaitat.org to sign up!

Assisting staff with receiving donations and duties in the reception area

Do you like getting involved in the community?  The Drexel Shelter needs a small group (4 persons) to assist with planning and facilitating fundraising ideas .  This would be a commitment of time and talent.  Help us address the  growing need in our area. Position Summary

The Communications Intern will assist with increasing visibility of and interaction with Canopy Center and its work. With the Communications & Event Planning Assistant, they will develop content for the agency's social media outlets and assist with fundraising efforts, event publicity, and community outreach. This includes taking and editing photos and video, creating graphics and assisting with tasks related to fundraising and outreach events. They will also assist in generating new ideas for content and will have input on future marketing initiatives for the agency and its programs.

This is a Spring semester internship.

Help the MCC Emergency Food Pantry keep our participants connected to the opportunities and resources they need by updating our Community Resource Wall. Help keep our bulletin boards updated, take down old resources, re-stock stock storage, and help reorganize materials on boards. 

This opportunity is designed for a small group of individuals and is available only on Fridays between 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
