Memory Bears are beautiful, handmade stuffed animals constructed from the personal clothing of hospice patients served by Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services. The keepsakes are designed to bring the surviving family members closer to the memory of their loved one. Each bear is created by a volunteer(s) with the individual in mind, using the clothing the patient or family has selected as special to them.  The bears serve as a lasting comfort to those who have lost their loved ones.

Additional volunteer sewers are needed in the Marshfield area and throughout Clark County.  Sewers should be skilled as they often work independently.  This volunteer opportunity allows each sewer to use their skill and creativity to construct each unique memory bear.  Sewers will be able to schedule their sewing time to fit their busy days, as well as doing work in their own home.  New volunteers will use the provided pattern to make a bear and help and advice are available for the volunteers.  Anyone with an interest in joining this effort is asked to call Deborah Hickey (Marshfield) at 800-397-4216.

ThedaCare At Home is currently seeking volunteers for the pet therapy program in the Fox Valley, Shawano, and Waupaca area. The pet therapy program provides visits by registered therapy dogs and their handlers to Hospice patients for the purpose of love, support, comfort, and animal companionship. Interested volunteers should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with many different people. Dogs must be a minimum of one year of age and be calm, gentle, polite, and comfortable interacting with unfamiliar people in unfamiliar settings.

The Soup or Socks Clothes Closet is expanding hours of service.  The Clothes Closet will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The hours are 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday hours are 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  

Families in need schedule an appointment with Soup or Socks to be served so that we have one family at a time.  Volunteers can choose to work 1 or more shifts per month as their schedule allows.

Volunteers sort donations and help clients find clothing that will meet their needs.  The Clothes Closet has a coordinator that maintains the schedule.

The Hannah Center operates a large supply of infant, toddler, and children's clothes.  We are constantly receiving donations as well as compiling packages to be able to give to those in need.  If you like to organize and sort we need your help categorizing and organizing and sorting the clean clothes. We do provide training for volunteers involved with Memory Bears. You will become part of the wonderful Ministry Hospice team, yet sew at home when you have time.  Through your efforts, you will help to assist our patients and families on their hospice journey. Funds received from bears directly support those patients that are under-insured or uninsured.

Each summer we do a series of animal educational programs called Wild Wednesdays.  Usually they are two 45 minute programs (one at 11:00am and another at 1:00pm) for 50-200 children ranging in ages from pre-school to 5th grade.  Wild Wednesdays are held at the Wildwood Station, which is in the park near the zoo, and most presenters bring live animals. 

Presentations start in June and run through the first part of August.  Please contact me if you are interested in a fun, educational volunteer experience.  T-shirts are given to each volunteer!

Provide childcare for clients during weekly support group meetings, trauma-informed yoga sessions, and other scheduled client activities. Provide childcare on an on-call basis to give clients time and space for goal-oriented meetings, as well as offer opportunities for respite. Because childcare needs fluctuate, volunteers may be re-directed to other agency tasks. 

Recurring shifts include Wednesday mornings, as well as Thursday early afternoon and evening. 

**To comply with CASDA's Child Abuse Prevention policy, a minimum of two childcare volunteers are needed per shift.

Support CASDA's mission by greeting clients and other visitors, accepting/sorting donations, preparing mailings, keeping the welcome center neat and completing additional projects requested by staff. With additional training, office volunteers may also answer calls on our help line.

Lack of safe, reliable transportation is a significant barrier for many victims and survivors of abuse who are moving forward to an abuse-free life. CASDA transportation volunteers use their personal vehicle to help clients access goal-related appointments, such as those related to securing housing, education, employment or medical care. Transportation volunteers are utilized on an as-needed basis. Mileage is reimbursed.

Ministry Home Care - Hospice Services is seeking friendly and compassionate volunteers to staff the front desk at the House of the Dove Hospice House. The House of the Dove is a 12-bed hospice house facility.

Duties of front desk volunteers include answering the phone, taking messages, ensuring visitors sign in the visitor log and assisting with small clerical or holiday decorating projects as needed.

Volunteer shifts are 2-3 hours long between the hours of 4-9 PM Monday through Friday and from 7 AM - 9 PM on Saturday or Sunday. Our need is highest on weekends. Please call Deb H. at 800-397-4216 for more information.

Hospice volunteers are needed to assist in caring for terminally ill people and their families. Hospice volunteers provide companionship including visiting, listening, assisting with meal times or simply being a loving presence. The location of this volunteer opportunity is the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.

Volunteers help support hospice patients and their families through in-person visitations and phone calls.

Provides support through: Condolence visits, letters, telephone calls and assistance with support groups and memorial services.

Provides personal visits or telephone calls to offer companionship, socialization, emotional support, plays games, offer wheel chair rides, reminicing, and much more.

Often a family member or friend will take on guardianship, however, some people do not have relatives or friends available, willing, or able to take on these responsibilities and those people need your help. Outagamie County Volunteer Services recruits community members who are willing to take on these responsibilities and match them with a person in need. Instead of people being seen as a client of a company, they are seen as a person who has someone who cares. Guardians may be in charge of the person or estate or both and will be matched based on the volunteer's preference. You will make decisions regarding the person's well-being, health, and financial interests. Guardians are court appointed so this is a long term commitment. Mileage reimbursement is available at the federal rate and the work can be completed around your schedule. Volunteer needed to be a companion to a senior to assist them in learning/using the public transportation, i.e. Valley Transit Bus or Oshkosh Transit.  The volunteer will need to have a good knowledge of the bus route system.  May invlolve riding the bus for a few trips with the senior.  Flexible hours.

Volunteers are needed to drive seniors age 60+ to shop, medical appointments, beauty shop, or visit with friends in the city of Oshkosh and in the Fox Cities communities.  This personal service is provided by a volunteer using their own car and gas.  Scheduling is flexible.  Volunteers may sign up for a 1/2 day a month or on call as needed.

Be a behind the scenes hero!!

Volunteers assist with loading/unloading vehicles, sorting, cleaning, checking in of items, and other warehouse projects. Currently we're looking for volunteers to assist in the mornings of Mondays, and/or Thursdays from 9am until 12pm as well as volunteers for on-call Monday to Friday from 9am until 12pm. On-Call volunteers would be periodically for when our regular volunteers during that shift will be gone.

Volunteer Drivers are needed to help with meal deliveries in the city of Marshfield.  Hot meals are picked up between 10:45AM & 11AM at Saint Joseph's Hospital, and delivered to the homes and apartments of elderly and disabled individuals in the Marshfield community.  Total time involved is about one hour.  Using their own vehicle, volunteers deliver the hot meals and pick up empty meal trays from the day before, which are then returned to the Hospital. 

Volunteers are asked to help out one day/week, or whatever their availability might be.  Schedules are always flexible!  Meals are delivered every day of the week and also on weekends and holidays. 

The Family Center is in need of temporary homes for pets of the families that need to be in our domestic abuse shelter. While we house the people we need homes to house their pets. Pets are so very important to the women and children that have to leave their homes. We want to offer this service so it is one less thing they have to give up. This volunteer opportunity can and does happen with very little notice to the staff at the Family Center. Also, this opportunity for volunteering is not an everyday happening. You will able to choose the type of pet you bring into your home that works and fits with your family and home. An interview with the volunteer and a home visit is required. You will supply a home, food, water and exercise. This is a fun volunteer job that you can do in your home.

This is a direct services position. You will be working with the families who are currently in residence by helping with any of their immediate physical needs. Your job is to keep the shelter and the occupants feeling safe & secure.

Other duties will include: listening when clients want to talk, answering phones, responding to crisis calls, logging any information that will help the next person on duty, helping to maintain order, and taking in fresh food donations. You are also welcomed to cook, to bake or to do a craft with the clients during your shift. There is always a staff person on-call should any problems occur while you are on duty. The shifts are 4 hours on weekends - no overnights. Occasionally, we need coverage during weekdays to help cover the shelter for staff meetings and trainings.

Our shelter is located at our Wisconsin Rapids office at 500 25th Street North.

Girls in Middle School are in need of community members to serve as Girl Scout troop leaders for their troop.  These girls are interested in being in Girl Scouts and strong role models to help guide their troop on activities and trips. 

Help the youth in your community by becoming a Troop Leader for Middle School girls.  Girls are ready and waiting for you to become their role model!

Our organization provides training, resources and coaching to help you become a strong volunteer.  No previous Girl Scout experience necessary, we can help you with all your questions!

This volunteer would work with the House manager on duty to fulfill House needs from writing thank you notes to doing laundry, putting away donations, baking, etc. Volunteers do things "behind the scenes" to make our House a cozy home for the 10 families that stay with us while they have an ill child in the hospital. House Volunteers give of their time (1-3 hrs weekly for most). Some volunteer mornings, some afternoons, and some prefer evenings after school or work.

The role of the Vigil Volunteer is to provide companionship and a supportive presence to patients, in their last days and hours of living, to help ensure that no one dies alone.  While volunteers do not assist with direct patient care or transporting family members, they could provide support to family members at a patient's bedside.

Volunteers can assist with training and coaching. Work with an adult in our community to improve their English language skills so they can understand more at work, read to their child, become a US citizen, participate in the community, and more! Tutors can tutor in-person at a public lo cation or online via Zoom. Pick a schedule that works for you, and we'll find you the right learner. Most matches meet once or twice a week for 1 to 2 hours.

Volunteers must be willing to learn tools that make tutoring productive and fun. The PCLC provides training, materials, and ongoing support. We'll show you have to use a curriculum that fits your learner's language level. Work together to help your learner achieve their goals. In addition to teaching, many tutors express that they learn a lot from their learners.

Assist Villagers in getting to and from activities, beauty/barber shop, spiritual services, therapy, Town Center, etc. 

Assist staff with household duties such as laundry, pass clean linens, take garbage out, take soiled linens to linen room, organize cupboards/closets (activity and supply closets), help Villagers clean out their closets. 

Be available to the Villagers during meal times. Help get the meals out to the dining area on a timely basis. Assist with keep the dining areas clean. Activities could include removing dishes, sweeping dining room floor, wiping down dining room chairs/tables, etc.

Volunteers can help us meet our Villager's Spiritual needs through leading a Bible Study, saying the Rosary, playing piano during services, be with the Villagers during the service, or assist in transportation to/from spiritual services.

Like being outside? Looking for an opportunity to keep active?  Then this is for you. Help our staff keep Brewster Village looking great. Help with gardening, landscaping, and lawn care. Inside we need wheelchairs washed, railings germ free and general straightening. Join our team!

Help keep our bird aviaries clean by washing the windows, cleaning the bottom, changing the water/food, giving snacks, bathing birds, etc.

Volunteer drivers are at the heart of this community service. Volunteers deliver hot meals to over 120 homebound members of our community on a daily basis through the Meals on Wheels Program. Drivers pick up the meals at the hospital and, using their own vehicles, deliver the meals directly to the homes or apartments of the recipients. At each stop, volunteers make a short visit and leave the meal. At the end of the delivery route, all empty containers are returned back to the hospital. Total time involved is about one hour. 

Volunteers are scheduled to help according to their availability. Volunteers may help once a week, twice a month, or on an on-call basis.  Currently we are seeking volunteers to fill regular route openings on Thursdays and Fridays.

Meals on Wheels of Stevens Point is seeking to expand it's pool of substitute drivers for November through April 2019.  By becoming a substitute driver, you will provide a daily safety check and brief socialization for recipients when delivering their hot meals.  ​Drive as little or as much as you would like.

Meals are picked up from the ​hospital between 10:55​ am​ and 11:30 am​ Monday thru Friday.​  ​R​oute​s​ takes approximately an hour​ to complete.​ Turn by turn directions are provided. A valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle​ are required​. Training ​is provided.

Drive seniors to medical appointments.  Use our vehicle or use your own and get reimbursed $0.51/mile.  Choose your own schedule and whether you would like to drive locally, long distance, or both! Service is offered Monday-Friday, no nights weekends or holidays. You choose the days and hours of availability or be in the general driver pool.

Troop Leaders plan and implement activities and mentor girls.  Troops typically meet 1-2 times per month though out the school year.  Meeting time and locations are flexible and can be customized based on volunteer's schedules.  We have many girls who would love to join a troop, and are just waiting for a leader to step forward!

Keep families connected! A volunteer family interaction supervisor monitors visits between children in alternate care and their parents. The volunteer’s role is to supervise the visit, making sure it is safe and productive. The supervisor is part of the team. You will take notes during the visit and share them with the case worker and coordinator. Transporting the child and/or parent to and from the visits is also part of the job in most cases. Visits are held at a site determined by the social worker and family and may be at the department, in the community, or in a home. Visits take place during the day, evenings, or weekends. The volunteer’s schedule is flexible and determined by the hours you want to work and the assignments you accept from the volunteer coordinator. Once a case is accepted, the schedule is consistent. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate is available. Help strengthen our community's ability to assist families in crisis and create a ripple effect of positive change!

Volunteers would be expected to maintain strict confidentiality, communicate with the assigned social worker, and complete paperwork in a timely fashion.  The families assigned to a volunteer have been screened and have been determined appropriate to be supervised by a volunteer. Outagamie County provides volunteer drivers to help DHHS clients (children and adults) stay connected by providing transportation for rides to appointments such as child visitation, therapy, and other necessary appointments. There are both local and out of county trips available. Drivers choose what rides they want to pick up and therefore set their own schedule. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate is provided. Volunteers are needed to assist in caring for terminally ill people and their families. Hospice volunteers provide companionship including visiting, listening, or simply being a loving presence. Volunteers are needed for in-home and facility visits and Cherry Meadows, our hospice facility in Menasha.

Volunteers sit with hospice patients providing a supportive presence during their final hours of life, when no family is available to be with them.

Volunteers are needed to assist with bereavement follow-up to family members of patients who have passed away on ThedaCare At Home’s Hospice services. Bereavement volunteers help with administrative projects or lend support and a listening ear to bereaved family members via telephone.

At the Outagamie County Mentoring Program, we work with the youth in the community who need us the most. We match kids with adults who help them out just by being a friend and spending a few hours a month together. A successful match is life changing for both the mentor and mentee! All of the youth in our program are between 6-17 years old and have been referred by a social worker from Outagamie County Health and Human Services.

Mentor matches spend about 4-8 hours a month together to develop a positive and trusting relationship the youth can rely on. Mentors expose youth to new and positive experiences that enhance self esteem and improve social skills. We find that many mentors enjoy getting to be a kid again with their mentee!

If you mentor with Outagamie County, you will receive all the training and support you need to make your match successful. We sponsor several events each year for our matches and also reimburse for mileage.

Volunteers greet and provide information to visitors and patients. This assignment provides patient wheelchair escort at discharge, delivers supplies and equipment to and from nursing units and ancillary departments and assists with special projects. Duties include answering information phone, delivering flowers, transporting patients and visitors, keeping the lobby area tidy. If you are caring, energetic, and able to push patients in wheelchairs this is the area for you. Volunteers are needed during the weekdays 7 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. -noon, noon - 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to operate the cafe which sells snack/beverage items to residents and visitors.  This is a great opportunity to run the cafe and socialize with the customers.  Hours of operation we are looking to fill are Sunday-Saturday 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M.
