The position of Office Volunteer supports CASDA's mission of providing supportive services to individuals hurt by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse as we advocate for a community effort to end violence. The Office Volunteer serves primarily in the front office, answering calls on our help line, and assisting walk-in clients to ensure their needs are met.

Additional Requirements: Office Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., for a minimum of one shift per week. Shifts may vary in length. A three-month commitment is required and a one-year commitment is appreciated. Volunteers must be 18 years of age (16- or 17-year-olds may be accepted with parental permission). Prospective volunteers are screened via a process that includes an application, interview, background check, and reference checks. Once accepted, volunteers must complete orientation provided by CASDA. Volunteers must have good communication skills, must use appropriate phone skills, and must have either experience with and/or sensitivity towards sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse issues.

PACA is looking for people passionate about and/or interested in community gardening to assist with the second year of planting, care and harvesting of our garden. The garden was built by and planted with the input of our refugee community, with classes led by community partners to teach our youth about gardening and nutrition. We will work in the garden weekly at 5:30 pm (on Mondays or Tuesdays). Additional Requirements: We will provide instruction in working in the garden as well as an orientation for working with youth. Help bring the power of literacy to adults in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Literacy Council seeks individuals to support the literacy goals of adults in our community. It is estimated that nearly 5000 adults in our community lack the literacy skills they need to get better jobs, help their children with homework, or participate fully in society. AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals within communities to commit a year to serving others. Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach is a national service grantee that oversees the Marshfield Clinic AmeriCorps Volunteer Wisconsin program. Marshfield Clinic AmeriCorps Volunteer Wisconsin places individuals with nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin to build and strengthen volunteer programs. Individuals will receive focused training in volunteer management, then assist with such tasks as: recruiting, training and supervising volunteers; creating volunteer handbooks, application forms, and brochures; writing position descriptions; updating website content and coordinating social media; and other (non-volunteer) tasks specific to the mission of the nonprofit.

What does it mean to serve?

Applicants must be willing to serve for the duration of the term of service (1700 hours minimum), averaging approximately 35-40 hours a week. Members must also be able to handle the financial commitment made by accepting the position. Applicants must be 19 years of age by September 11, 2017, possess a high school diploma or GED/HSED, and agree to and pass a criminal and Department of Motor Vehicles background checks.

Do you have a friendly dog who loves attention from people, but is also very gentle and well-mannered? You and your dog can light up the day of Agrace HospiceCare Patients! Volunteers and their dogs are needed to visit with Agrace HospiceCare patients living in long-term care facilities in the community, or at the Madison or Janesville Inpatient Units.

Licensed cosmetologists, barbers or cosmetology students are needed to provide occasional haircuts or styling to Agrace HospiceCare patients in patients' homes or in long-term care facilities. Sometimes hospice patients are unable to leave their homes for haircuts or styling; in other circumstances, patients would like to have hair styled for an upcoming event (birthday/anniversary).

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must complete a 2-step TB test with annual screening.

Serve as a mentor to individuals seeking employment in the community by assisting with resume writing, filling out job applications, job searches, assisting with computer skills, assisting with soft skills while providing a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Additional Requirements: Before you can begin serving with us, there is an application and a background check (since we work with a vulnerable population). We will also have an orientation where you will be informed more about our agency and go on a tour of the facility.

Agrace is a nonprofit health care agency that provides supportive care to patients and their families through the stages of a chronic, serious or life-limiting illness. We depend on the time and talents of specially trained volunteers, who assist our patients, families and staff in a variety of ways.  Additional Requirements: The requirements for this volunteer position include the following: Complete the volunteer application process and orientation session. Volunteers will complete a 12-hour training course, which is provided by Agrace to prepare you for your volunteer role. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and will be required to complete a 2-step TB test and yearly TB screening. Most roles require a commitment of 50 volunteer hours within the first year of service. Volunteers typically volunteer 2-4 hours either weekly or every other week.

It is our goal that you will form a working relationship with our youth in order to best provide your services; these services will range from tutoring and helping with class assignments to counseling and being a positive role model for the youth. You will meet with the youth about once a week based on a schedule determined at volunteer orientation depending on your availability. Mentor Superior is seeking positive adult role models to spend time with youth in the Duluth/ Superior community. Amanda, age 16 said " My mentor has helped me become who I am today. She has given me confidence, and I couldn't imagine my life without her." Thor, mentor since 2010 said, "It is amazing how much you learn and develop as a mentor.

If you answered yes to all of the above questions, Mentor Duluth is right for you!! Minimum time commitment of 8-12 hours a month for one calendar year. Mentors are assigned a Program Advocate who provides support and advice. Matches meet one on one in the community and mentors take on an independent role in communicating with the mentee's family and coordinating activities.

Be the person who inspires a child to learn more. The student tutor will work one-on-one with students in the area of reading or mathematics. Teachers will provide the materials and the detailed instructions on how to use the materials with each student. The extra practice the student receives may determine the level of success the student experiences. Volunteers will provide the means for Marshfield Clinic healthcare providers to look beyond the usual scope of healthcare and offer remedies to social needs like food, shelter, transportation, afterschool care, etc. Volunteers will discuss the patient-specific needs, locate and share resources with the patient, and provide follow up to assure patients are connected with the resources needed.

Volunteers are needed every weekday from 11:00 a.m. to noon to deliver meals to approximately 10 homebound senior citizens and disabled persons. We ask volunteers to deliver one day per week and we try to place volunteers with routes in neighborhoods close to their home or office. We are looking for volunteers to provide rides for older adults and persons with disabilities who need transportation to medical appointments and other destinations. Drivers use their own vehicles, get reimbursed 42 cents per mile and are covered by an umbrella insurance policy. Riders request trips in advance and pay fares matched to trip lengths. Volunteers have the opportunity to provide transportation to elderly and disabled in need in this volunteer driving program called Making the Ride Happen. Volunteers would help clients stay connected with their doctors and community and remain independent. Time and commitment level are up to the volunteer (once a week, once a month, on call, or as needed). Assignments are half-day, morning or afternoon. Barron County Habitat for Humanity (BCHFH) is looking for volunteers who want to make a positive impact in their community and help provide decent, affordable homes for low-income families. Barron County Habitat for Humanity is in need of Information Specialists to provide support for both BCHFH and the ReStore through data entry, answering the phone, and providing excellent customer service to potential clients.

Barron County Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers who want to make a positive impact in their community and help provide decent, affordable homes for low-income families. The Barron County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is in need of Cashiers to provide great customer service to our customers and donors and spread awareness of Habitat's mission.

Additional Requirements: Volunteer cashiers must be 16 years or older. We require that all volunteers have a background check done and fill out a release/waiver form before volunteering. Experience is welcome, but not necessary, and training will be provided.

The focus on the volunteer opportunities includes removal of buckthorn and garlic mustard weeds as well as general trail maintenance. The fall 2015 and spring 2016 activities will include planting native shrubs and trees. Work days are held on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the park. NWCSA offers the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) in both Superior and Ashland. Volunteer with VITA! Openings include: Tax Preparer, Greeter and Office Helper. Tax preparers assist low and middle income households complete their state and federal taxes while Greeters assist clients with obtaining and filling out the proper forms before being taken to the tax preparer.

You will be interacting with clients to show support and enthusiasm. This can also help to keep them motivated. WasteCap Resource Solution's has two training courses that are held on a national level. Our Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling Training and our Deconstruction Training. WasteCap is currently looking for volunteers to help with marketing and reaching out to industry professionals to fill our training courses. Barron County Restorative Justice Programs helps people heal from the harm caused by crime and conflict. We have opportunities for volunteers to work with youth or adult offenders in our Teen Court, Restorative Conference, Traffic Violators, Truancy Prevention, or Victim Impact programs! We also have opportunities for teaching in one of our workshops to help educate and prevent future problems.

If you love working with animals, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to help as Kennel Assistants for our morning and evening chores. We serve approximately 350-400 families per month in our Food Pantry and the proceeds of our Thrift Store help fund the pantry. NATH is seeking individuals to help with our fundraising events. We are in need of individuals to help sell raffle tickets, to help with brat sales and to be a part of parades. Volunteers assist Seniors with activities and programs as well as updating the bulletin board, sorting books, and maintaining social contact with participants at the Center. The Clear Lake Area Community Center is the former home of the Clear Lake High School. We will be cleaning up the Community Center inside and and doing yard and garden work outside. Inside activities include cleaning rooms that are not currently rented to make them more presentable to potential renters. We will be taking inventory of the kitchen equipment and supplies, removing paint and wallpaper, etc.

Additional Requirements: Nearly all volunteer can find jobs that fit their skill level and lifting restrictions. Training will be provided at the start of activities on April 30 and will be ongoing. Volunteers will go through an application process.

Join Kids and Mentors Outdoors and the Wisconsin Natural Resources Foundation by participating on May 17, 2014 in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon Count day. Individuals/families/groups get a participant packet and choose a location to hold bird observation on May 17th.

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that reinforces the value of an education by teaching young people the pillars of entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. We have volunteers go into classrooms to engage young people in interactive programs with a goal of inspiring them to own their economic success in the global marketplace. We also have day events where students explore potential careers, learn how to prepare for a job, how to keep a job, and job-hunting tools for earning a job.

Don’t be shy if you don’t have any experience teaching, we’ll provide you with training and a “kit” that includes everything you need to say and do in the classroom.

Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area (HFHSWRA) provides affordable homeownership and home repairs throughout our tri-county service area of Columbia, Sauk and Iowa counties. On the work sites, under the supervision of a skilled Construction Supervisor, we use volunteers to help build - thus keeping the cost of the homes and/or repairs reasonable for the low-to-moderate income people we serve.

At our retail ReStore in Baraboo, we sell gently used and new building supplies and home improvement items. We seek volunteers to help with a wide array of duties, such as: accepting donations; sorting, cleaning, and pricing donations; stocking items; designing and constructing displays; working on marketing and advertising (both print, and web based); helping with special events.

Volunteer orientation and safety training is provided.

The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic offer free health care to the poor and disadvantaged in the area. We are in need of kind, warm, and friendly people to assist patients in the registration process and answer the phones on clinic nights. We are also in need of daytime receptionists to answer phones, retrieve messages, file charts, etc.

Additional Requirements: Volunteer must be 18 years of age or older. Hands on training will be provided. Ideal volunteer candidates will possess phone skills, basic clerical and computer skills, ability to organize and prioritize, ability to multi-task, and ability to assure patient confidentiality is required.

The Trempealeau County Humane Society is in need for weekend volunteer help, and a few evenings during the week. We are an all volunteer Humane Society that relies strictly on volunteers and donations. We are the only resource for animals in our county. Before we opened our doors in 2005, some townships would get stray animals and tie them to farm machinery for two weeks. Additional Requirements: We do require that you have the love and devotion to help animals!

Do you enjoy helping others? Can you make personal decisions for adults who are unable to make their own decisions? If you answered yes, then become a Volunteer Guardian! Guardians are needed when an adult can no longer make important day to day or life decisions. These at-risk adults need protection from abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation. You can provide that protection through advocacy and decision-making.  Additional Requirements: A 3-hour free online training session through UW Green Bay is required. Be an advocate for a child! We match mentors one-on-one with children in Kindergarten through 8th grade at Kenosha Unified Schools. Mentors are caring, supportive adult role models, friends, cheerleaders, confidants and confidence builders. We ask a commitment of at least 30 minutes once a week for one school year. Mentors receive an orientation to mentoring, training and on-going support.  Additional Requirements: Volunteers must be 55 or older, submit to a background check, agree to a school year commitment and participate in monthly training and mentor support seminars.

Additional Requirements: All volunteers are appreciated. There are several ways a person can help. One on one tutoring would require a multisensory background in teaching reading. (we offer beginning or advanced courses each year) We have newsletters that go out twice per year, which requires maintaining an updated database, folding, and stamping the newsletters. People who having a good working knowledge of setting up databases could help us more effectively match trained tutors to needy students. There is also a need for running off materials for classes we host, mailings, annual meetings and flyers. We pass out materials through out the communities so having volunteers in each of the towns would be extremely helpful and not very time consuming for each individual.

We are looking for sewers who would like to sew uniforms for children in Haiti. We will provide the fabric and pattern if needed. Children in Haiti cannot attend school if they do not have a uniform. You may choose jumpers or blouses for the girls or pants and shirts for the boys. We collect and then ship uniforms twice a year. Additional Requirements: Volunteers who are willing to sew.

We are looking for volunteers to make minor repairs in the home of seniors or disabled persons. Many of these seniors do not have family in the area to help them. We are looking for volunteers willing to give them a helping hand. The repairs can be changing light bulbs, putting plastic on their windows in the winter, repairing or replacing leaking faucets to installing grab bars. Additional Requirements: There are no requirements necessary. However persons with a background in carpentry, building, maintenance, electricians, and handyman is helpful.

Once a month our office assembles newsletters for either parents or 4H families which include educational information from our office educators. We welcome volunteers for this one morning a month to assist our staff in folding and labeling these educational newsletters at our Waupaca Office to be mailed. Additional Requirements: We do not have any requirements for volunteers and the training needed to assemble the newsletters is minimal. There are not limitations on who may volunteer for this opportunity.

Foster care allows respite care for animals in need of time away from the center, care for puppies and kittens too young for adoption, care for animals recovering from surgery or illness and animals in need of socialization skills that can only be learned in a home environment. The adoption center will decide which animals can be fostered and to whom. Additional Requirements: Adults and families that have experience in training, socializing and caring for sick animals. It is required that an application with references be filled out. There will be an initial on-site home inspection and may possibly be "unannounced" inspections.

Computer assistant needed to help with writing the Treehaven monthly newsletter. Information about programs, workshops and happenings here at Treehaven plus photos will be provided. We are looking for a creative individual to help format the newsletter. Office assistant needed to help with mailings, sending out program confirmation letters, updating email list and other office functions. Additional Requirements: Computer skills needed are basic word processing skills and desktop publishing. These opportunities are very flexible and be done from home or you can use our computer lab here at Treehaven.

Help us provide fresh produce to area residents lacking food security. From May through October we garden on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 AM - 11 AM at Phoenix Villa, 1101 Mason Street in Rhinelander. Our garden is located behind the building on Thayer Street. Additional Requirements: Training is provided. Just show up at the designated times or call for more info. A variety of tasks need to be completed. Not all require bending or heavy lifting.

Dogs waiting for their forever home need walks too! Help our dogs get some much needed exercise, mental stimulation and socialization. Additional Requirements: A dog walking training session must be completed. Sessions are held the third Saturday of each month.

We are looking for someone with website knowledge to maintain and update our website. There is an existing website that is not very user friendly so it is not being maintained very well. I would be willing to either look at a new website all together (preferred) or work on maintaining the one we already have. Additional Requirements: Desired candidate would have working knowledge of websites and be able to work with the Program Director on keeping an up to date website for the organization.

Welcome Center assistants will have the fun job of greeting members and guests at the YMCA front desk. They will assist with member scan ins, guest sign ins, towels, helping with mailings and making coffee. Experienced assistants will also give tours to prospective members and guests. Assistants find this volunteer opportunity fun because you work with members of all ages. Additional Requirements: Welcome Center Assistants will go through a YMCA volunteer training and receive job specific training under the direction of the Welcome Center supervisor. Volunteers for this position must be mature and at least 12 years of age. All Y volunteers must complete a volunteer application or have one on file. The RAFP relies 100% on Volunteers and needs people who enjoy our area, love helping others and making a difference in people's lives! As a volunteer, confidentiality and ethics in business must be a priority and is required.

Hospice is about living each day to the fullest. It's about helping individuals dying of terminal illness live each day in a pain-free environment, with dignity and peace. As a hospice volunteer, you can be a part of this incredible journey. Volunteers are currently needed throughout the Northwoods to support hospice patients and their loved ones.  Additional Requirements: Volunteers must take a 1 day a week for 6 weeks course, usually offered in the Fall and Spring. Youth sports & play coaches instruct, coach, and supervise sports programs for ages K-5th grade children. The Y offers a wide variety of coaching opportunities-flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, dance team, tennis, and martial arts.Y youth programs emphasize good sportsmanship, fair play, age appropriate skills, and fun. Additional Requirements: Volunteers need to be mature high school or adults with a passion for working with youth. Sports specific knowledge is beneficial but not required. The YMCA holds monthly Teen Nights where students in 6-8th grade get to come to the Y for a night of dancing, swimming and playing. The Y is looking for individuals that would like to spend the night interacting with the teens in a positive manner. Teen night is the second Saturday of each month from 7-11PM. These volunteers help the Adoption Center staff transport and set up cages to and from the off site adoption site. The building grounds are in great need of some TLC. We need volunteers to help us clean up the weeds and rocks and make our bushes look great again. I am looking for people who know what they are doing when it comes to gardening as I am not that person. I can also use some people who would just like to come spend an hour or two pulling weeds and picking rocks.

Feline caregiving involves cleaning cages, providing fresh food and water, cleaning litter boxes and most of all loving and brushing all our feline friends. This may not be one of the most glamorous sounding jobs, but it is one of the most important. Additional Requirements: This job requires someone who is dedicated to the welfare of the shelter cats. We need people who are willing to commit to certain days. The hours will be from 8am to noon. There will be a training period that will involve shadowing with a seasoned volunteer for one week minimum.A volunteer application is required.

We are looking for a volunteer who loves to work with young children. This person would be working on Tuesday mornings through out the school year. Preschool Adventures is a program geared to children ages 1-3 and their parents. This program provides a first time structured activities where children learn about the world around them.

I am looking for someone to manage our community service program. Specifically I looking for someone to help us set up innovative projects for our kids. We do weekly community service projects with 1 - 8 youth. This changes weekly. Additional Requirements: Creativity is the key for this position. Also, know what need exist within our community that a small group of kids can work on two hours at a time.

This position provides friendly and efficient customer service to Adoption Center patrons. The customer service assistant assists staff by answering patron questions in person and by phone, escorting visitors on tours to meet adoptable animals and monitoring the adoption areas. Additional Requirements: Customer service assistants need to be friendly and enjoy assisting customers in their selection of an animal. The assistant will work with the director initially.

Many of our cats come to us very frightened and stressed. We need caring individuals to help them adjust to shelter life by daily socialization and grooming. Additional Requirements: As with all volunteer opportunities an application will need to be filled out. Once this is done, you will come to the shelter for orientation and to be paired up with another seasoned volunteer. After that all that is required is kind, quiet words and gentle petting and grooming. The transition that you will witness will warm your heart. This position is an afternoon position.

BRAT (Badger Rescue Animal Transfer) is a group of people who transport animals to shelters and rescue groups throughout Wisconsin. Drivers needed would transport animals to the Wausau and Antigo areas. The animal is then transferred to another BRAT driver to take the animal to it's final destination. Additional Requirements: Volunteer must have a current Wisconsin drivers license. They must have a vehicle that will transport the animal comfortably. BRAT volunteers donate their time and gas for this important position.

The Y is looking for people who would like to spend an hour rocking and playing with infants. During our busy mornings the drop in childcare center is looking for additional hands to keep infants happy and safe. Additional Requirements: Volunteers must love children, be caring, safety conscious, and able to lift 20 pounds. All Y volunteers must complete a volunteer application. Kids In Need is looking for some volunteers to head up our fundraising events. This could be one time, or on an ongoing basis depending on the volunteers interest. Additional Requirements: I am looking for one or more people who have some creative ideas for fundraising events. I need them to take their event from start to finish with help from staff. You will work with the Program Director and have access to staff help.

YMCA Girls Night Out (GNO) program is looking for female individuals that would like to spend time and mentor girls in 6-8th grade. GNO meets every other Thursday and does many different activities, such as, miss manners, community service, arts and crafts, fitness (Zumba, power beat) at the Y to name a few! Additional Requirements: Mentors should have a desire to work with girls in this age group, be caring, motivating and a good role model. All Y volunteers must complete a volunteer application. A background check is done on all volunteers.

Organize and update a large selection of greeting cards available for sale at the Center to keep racks filled and neat. Rotate stock approximately three weeks to one month prior to upcoming seasonal events. Evaluate any card donations for condition and appropriateness. Monitor and keep stock organized. Let Activity & Volunteer Coordinator know when stock needs to be reordered. Additional Requirements: Must have good organizational skills and be aware of calendar events when card rotation would be needed. Stop in at the Center at least once per week to check the racks, more often during heavy card sales events such as Christmas or other holidays.

We're looking for individuals who enjoy spending time with other volunteers in the garden. Downtown Rhinelander has a few small planting areas that require regular upkeep. One of those is The Plaza at the corner of Rives Street and Brown Street. This is a community space to be enjoyed by all and is maintained solely by community volunteers. 

Additional Requirements: 1) Time commitment would be an hour or more at a time for just one time or on a regular basis such as weekly or monthly. 2) Bring your own tools. Some tools may be available.
