We are looking for bright, experienced volunteers to join our fundraising team as a Grant Writer. In addition to researching and writing grant proposals on behalf of the Women's Empowerment Series you will be in charge of maintaining a grants calendar to monitor the application process and keep track of various deadlines. You should feel comfortable reaching out to institutional and potential donors, as well as communicating with company leaders regarding their financial needs. Our ideal candidate is someone who will be able to enthusiastically help our organization attain the donations it needs to serve the community. Don't hesitate on this incredible opportunity. 

PURPOSE: Guests are appreciative when we offer Treat Bags at lunch, dinner, or as a snack throughout the day. They appreciate the delicious foods, the fun presentation, and the knowledge that someone in our community is thinking of them. Additionally, Treat Bags can be part of the many ways that guests’ basic and emotional needs are met, allowing them to better focus on their progress and goals.

DESCRIPTION: Your group will plan, purchase ingredients and assemble single-serving Treat Bags. These consist of disposable cellophane, plastic, or paper baggies filled with purchased or homemade snacks/sweets. This is a great at-home volunteer option for younger groups and families. You can also prepare them on-site and receive a tour. We ask for Treat Bags in increments of 30 (30, 60, 90, etc.).

NOTES: Homemade snacks, such as trail mix, puppy chow, and cookies, are welcome. For these items that lack labels/packaging, please date each baggie with a sharpie, referring to the day the food was made (this can be small, in the corner). Additionally, please. make sure any nuts or common allergens are more obviously labeled- we recommend using a white label sticker, with a printed or handwritten message.

- A handwritten card or note in each Treat Bag is not required but much appreciated. Similarly, paper baggies can be decorated. Please keep notes respectful and free of religious notions or personal contact information. A Guest House staff member will read through all cards- therefore, please either make them visible through the bag, or choose a resealable bag that we can access.

- We love offering guests fruit, but it can get mushy quickly in a baggie. Please include any fruit donations separately, and we will hand out with the Treat Bags.

- Single-serving drinks are not required but appreciated. Feel free to include in Treat Bag, or donate separately and we can hand out with the Treat Bags.

- This volunteer activity is specific to food and drink items. Please do not include hygiene items, gift cards, or money in Treat Bags

Work with our Urban Farm team to produce a greater harvest in 2024! Our Hoop House Helpers support our work by planting, harvesting, weeding, and implementing organic integrated pest management practices to reduce pest damage. We also partner with Feeding America to provide 30,000 pounds of fresh organic produce to families in need within our community. 

Schedule is flexible during business hours - Mondays-Fridays 8:30AM-3:30PM. Perfect opportunity for someone looking for an ongoing project, and someone looking to keep a regular volunteer schedule. Hoop House Helpers must be able to keep clear records, comply with organic agricultural practices, and work cooperatively with others from diverse backgrounds. Physical tasks include things such as bending, kneeling, lifting (generally 35 lbs. or less independently), standing, and using hand tools for gardening. Please reach out with any concerns, as we are able to make accommodations and have tools such as kneeling pads, etc. A brief 15-minute volunteer orientation is required for all new volunteers. Orientations are held Thursdays at 1:00PM each week.

Allay's Hospice Companions bring comfort to patients and relief to their caregivers by offering a supportive presence, a listening ear, and a helping hand.  When visiting, volunteers may offer to play music or a game, read to the patient, listen to his/her stories and memories, sit with a patient outside or go for a walk, or offer assistance with other non-medical tasks. There are times when volunteers may simply sit quietly while holding one's hand, letting the patient know that he or she is not alone. 

Allay's Compassionate Companions profoundly affect the quality of our patients' lives by simply sharing their time. The amount of time you give is flexible and scheduled around your availability. We do take your location into account to assign patient visits that are within or near your own community. 

Hospice companions receive training regarding the philosophy of hospice, the role of the volunteer and other staff members, as well as, helpful skills for meaningful visits with hospice patients and their families. 

Volunteer and patient safety are our top priority. We follow CDC guidelines & respect the Covid-19 protocols of our partner facilities. At this time, volunteers are asked to complete a self-screening checklist prior to visits, wear a mask during visits and, of course, adhere to standard precautions such as frequent handwashing. One of the most frequent requests made by Allay's hospice patients are for visits from a friendly, certified therapy dog or therapy cat. Therapy animals have the endearing quality of showing unconditional love & affection that brings joy to everyone. They are a remarkable source of comfort & companionship, as well as a welcome distraction from the daily routine for both hospice patients and their families. Contact with furry companions can be especially meaningful to patients who are no longer able to care for their own beloved pet. 

Would you be able to help us fulfill some of those requests within your own community?

While many pets provide love and companionship in the home, not all of them have the temperament suited for this type of service. Performance Requirements:

Volunteers are needed to assist our pantry guests through the food pantry and help take the groceries out to their car. There is also a free clothing and household goods area to keep neat and tidy. Helpers will also keep the pantry fully stocked. We can 100% guarantee a good time for our volunteers! The hours are 1:30-6:00pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 9:30-1:00pm on Fridays. Feel free to volunteer for whatever portion of the shift you can.

The pantry will be closed when outside conditions are unsafe, such as snowstorms, or bitterly cold wind chills. Any closings are posted on our website and Facebook page.

We provide our lunches to our youth and young adults Tuesday-Friday, and hot dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays. Our lunches are served in grab-n-go style and dinners can either be dropped off or served in-person. We offer our dinner meal donors the opportunity to serve their dinner in person and sit down with our youth and young adults to enjoy the meal they have prepared.

Big Oak Child Care Center has been providing quality, play-based child care to the Atwood neighborhood and near east side of Madison for over 30 years. 2020 was a challenging year for childcare centers locally and nationally. Big Oak operated at a reduced capacity for much of the year to protect our families, staff, and community. Our Youth Community Enrichment Program (YCEP) provides year-round age-appropriate opportunities and special events for developmentally disabled children as young as age 5. Through YCEP, children can socialize and interact with peers, experience spending time away from home, and have more exposure to the community and area events.

The program also provides a chance for the parents and other caregivers to have a break from the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for a child who has exceptional needs.

Volunteer application and background check must be completed, before starting any volunteer experience with The Arc Fond du Lac.

The Community Enrichment Program (CEP), is a nights and weekends program designed to integrate those with intellectual and developmental disabilities into the community in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. 

Participants must be 18 or older and will work to further develop their skills, accomplish goals, build confidence, and socialize.

A volunteer application and background check must be completed before the start of any volunteer experience with The Arc Fond du Lac. Volunteer applications can be picked up at the main office location, 500 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac, or on the website arcfdl.org.

Our diaper bank distributes over 50,000 diapers each month directly to families in need, and that number keeps increasing. We serve over 1,300 children each month, as well as provide diapers to area partner agencies. Volunteering for SSM Health at Home Meals on Wheels is a great way to make a huge impact in a short amount of time. By delivering meals you bring nutritious food and a friendly visit to seniors and people with disabilities in your community during the noontime hour. 

We offer a mid-day meal providing daily nutrition and safety checks to those in need. All meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers, and made fresh daily.

We deliver around 300 meals a day, 5 days a week, and have 4 different pick up locations through the city of Madison (West Madison, Monona/East Madison, South Madison and Northeast Madison). Meal delivery is scheduled between 11am – 1pm every day of the week. Delivery routes usually take about an hour, each route has anywhere from 10-15 people on it. Your commitment can be very flexible. We will work with whatever dates you have available. Some people volunteer every Monday, some volunteer once a month. Whatever works for you, works for us! There is an application and orientation that would need to be completed in order to be a volunteer.

Journey Together is a prison dog program that trains service dogs to help people with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).  Our dogs spend the majority of their time being trained by inmates at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution.  However, to have the skills needed to be a successful service dog, our puppies need exposure to public places and events.

Volunteers schedule times that work in their schedule to take the dogs to locations for public access and exposure.  Grocery stores, department stores, youth events, parks and restaurants are all examples of places the dogs need to experience.  Our volunteers select the dates and times that fit their lifestyle.

JTSD provides orientation and training to new volunteers and ongoing training opportunities as well as group outings.

Horizon Home Care & Hospice is looking for a few beautiful souls to volunteer at our Lawlis Family Hospice In-Patient Unit, located on the second floor of Columbia, St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. There are also opportunities available at Kathy Hospice in West Bend. If you enjoy meeting new people and are interested in providing a helping hand to our compassionate nursing staff, then this may be the perfect role for you!

As a Hospice Companion you will be well prepared to serve the needs of our patients and their families. There is extensive training, much of it centered around therapeutic communication with the dying and the grieving. We are certified by Joint Commission and report to the State Board. As required, you should plan on 10-15 hours of orientation, broken out over several sessions and a few days. We will also provide you with training on direct patient care, so you are able to assist our nurses and aides with some essential functions at our hospice in-patient unit. You truly are, and will feel like, a part of the care team at Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice.

It should also be noted that our volunteer program is very flexible. Whether you are retired and have lots of extra time on your hands or you're extremely busy yet feel the need to give back to your community, we will make it work for you and your schedule.

Host a Donation Drive: A donation drive is a great option for individuals as well as groups, and helps build positive momentum in our community. Your donation drive could be for nonperishable foods, personal hygiene items, warm clothes, outerwear, shoes, or other needed items. Donations may be delivered to our shelter, or we can make arrangements to pick up your collected items!

Impact of Opportunity: Guest House does not have funds for food, hygiene, or clothing; we rely on the generosity of our community to help provide these basic necessities to our guests. During cold months, our greatest need is for men's winter coats in 2XL-4XL sizes. Boots and sneakers are always needed as well.

The Lussier Community Education Center food pantry provides nutritious food to over 200 families per month. Our pantry receives food from Second Harvest Food Bank, TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), generous individual donors, and generous business donors in the area.

We are looking for volunteers to help pick up large donations from our business donors twice a month. 

Volunteers use their own vehicles to pick up donated items. 

Shifts areas follows:

Volunteers are responsible for the physical task of loading donated items into crates (provided by the LCEC), lifting those crates into vehicles, and unloading crates from vehicles and into the LCEC (using carts w/ wheels). 

This is a physically demanding position and we ask volunteers to be mindful of their bodies, as well as their ability to lift and twist. 

Volunteers in this role are very important, as we are able to secure thousands of pounds of organic and nutritious items for our pantry shoppers each week.

This position is ideal for someone who is physically able to lift, has a large vehicle or hatch back, and wants to make a huge difference by volunteering their time.

Join our team of Emergency Food Pantry Volunteers!

Three times a week we conduct Food Pantry at the Bay View Community Center! We are a choice pantry and allow our clients to pick what we have to offer! We also supply diapers, kid snacks, and frozen food! Our Volunteers help operate the food pantry store, sort incoming donations, prepare fresh garden produce and process bread donations.

Meals on Wheels is a program for adults 60 and older who are considered homebound and either do not have access to healthy food or are unable to make a healthy meal for themselves.

The ADRC-CW delivers hot meals Monday-Friday, starting between 9:45 am- 10:15 am. Most routes take an hour to an hour and a half. Help us make sure older adults get a hot meal delivered! Become a Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver. 

Volunteers can help deliver meals once a week, or even just once a month. Helping an hour a month has a tremendous impact! 

Groups are encouraged to apply! Grab some friends or a group from the office or church. Pick a day and route to "adopt" and rotate the driver among your group. This is a great way to make a difference in the community and share the time commitment with a group.

We have volunteers that are just on a "substitute" status and are willing to help out if someone is sick or is out on vacation.

This fast-paced position manages the flow of guests in the surgery waiting area, as well as provides updates to sponsors when available. We currently have two shifts available, and are looking for two volunteers to join the OSC volunteer team.

Front Entrance Ambassador is an individual who has a warm and inviting presence. Ambassadors first steps should make sure all visitors are met with a friendly greeting. Ambassadors guide, assist, and make your arrivals a seamless and delightful experience. They should provide helpful information, answer questions, helping with wheelchair assistance, and helping patients get to his/her appointments.

Aurora Healthcare Volunteer Opportunities

Through an all-volunteer network, Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County provides vital transportation services to seniors in need. Our volunteers transport seniors to the doctor, dentist, pharmacy, dialysis, food pantry, grocery store, bank and other essential errands. Volunteers can use their own vehicle or one of our wheelchair accessible minivans. Aurora Healthcare Volunteer Opportunities

Greet visitors, manage gift shop sales, answer the phone, and interact with Museum guests. Volunteers are welcome to bring a book, craft or other materials for slow times, and we often have small projects available to work on (assemble kits, stuff envelopes, etc.).

We provide training to operate the Point of Sale system (iPad based) and information about the organization and current exhibits. There is also a manual for reference. A staff member is always available to assist.

As a volunteer at our Little Chute site, you both check-in blood donors for their appointments and serve donors refreshments. The goal of the role is to welcome donors and ensure that donors are feeling well and healthy after their donation. 

The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others. This position is such a rewarding one as you are taking care of our donors to ensure they have a great experience and look forward to their next visit.

Help us prepare meals to send home with the families that shop at our market! Though we had to close our dining area due to COVID, we are grateful to continue to have the opportunity to provide meals to our clients. The meals are prepared onsite by our chefs with the help of many wonderful volunteers. They are safely stored, and then they are sent home with the clients with reheating instructions so that they can be enjoyed as family meals in the home. We need help with meal prep (and occasionally distributions as well) during the following times:

Golden House is fortunate to have many generous donors providing essential items for the families we serve. We are currently seeking volunteers to help sort and organize these donations, making it easier to distribute them efficiently and ensure families receive what they need.

Assist the Food Pantry team with Spanish language translation. Must be comfortable speaking Spanish and English, age 16 or older (high school students must be a native speaker or have successfully completed Spanish 3 or above). Need to dress for weather.

Looking for Victim Crisis Response Volunteers to Address Trauma

The Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response (VCR) Team is looking to expand its services within Winnebago County, specifically to the Oshkosh area. The VCR team is a professional volunteer organization designed to assist local police departments in providing support, assistance and resources to members of the community and their families who are victims/survivors of crime or who are in crisis. Trained VCR volunteers respond directly to the scene when requested by members of the partnering police agencies. Last year, the VCR program responded to an average of 300 emergency calls, serving 1,300 community members. Based on the recommendations and work of the Winnebago County Overdose Fatality Reviews and the lead from the Oshkosh Police Department, the VCR program is looking for 10 volunteers to be trained and to begin volunteering this fall, so this successful program can meet the needs of Oshkosh community members. 

VCR volunteers will be working within Winnebago and Outagamie counties for a minimum of 12 hours of on-call time per month. Ideal volunteers are over 18, successfully pass a background check, and people who are understanding, empathetic, and compassionate for those experiencing a traumatic event. Additionally volunteers would need to be reliable, to be respectful of law enforcement and first responders, have a personal cell phone with a data plan, have a valid driver’s license, have valid auto insurance and have a reliable vehicle. VCR volunteers respond with immediate assistance to support the needs of victims/survivors of crime and those in crisis, primarily with emotional support, safety, information, and community referrals; they enhance the quality of justice by fostering an increased willingness of victims/survivors and witnesses to cooperate with law enforcement after they have reported a crime; they assist law enforcement officers by attending to the immediate on-scene emotional needs of victims/survivors of crime and crisis; and they attend monthly training meetings to develop personal skills and team building.

All volunteers go through 24 hours of training and will be matched with VCR mentors. We are looking for frozen homemade meal donations to help support our clients. We will accept anywhere from 1-30 meals per week. Please contact volunteerdir@advocates-oz.org or 262-284-3577 x6 for more details!

Advocates of Ozaukee is a domestic violence and sexual assault shelter that is located in a non-disclosed area for the safety of our clients. We are looking for volunteers within the community to pick-up donations from local donor's residence and transport those donations to our shelter location. Volunteers must have a valid drivers license, vehicle and car insurance. 

This volunteer opportunity allows individuals to have perform a contact-free pick-up and drop off of the donations to ensure everyone's safety at this time. You do not need to wear a mask unless you are inside of a building or outside and within 6-feet of a donor, another volunteer, or Advocates Staff. Masks will be provided, if needed!

Be a mentor and advocate for individuals and families at the Transitional Living Center

Minor Housekeeping. 

The Transitional Living Center houses 32 people. (20 Men 6 females and 1 family of up to  6 people) 

Currently, with COVID the Center is open 24/7 with one staff member per shift.  

* Talk with residents and monitor common areas

* Conduct temperature checks

* Assist with minor paperwork 

* Assist with meals

The person must be over the age of 18 and understand confidentiality.  Training will be provided.

mentor2.0 is a proven, technology-enriched mentoring program for high school students. It provides support and guidance, helping high school students graduate and succeed in both college and the workforce. This program combines in-person mentoring with safe, secure online communication and a comprehensive weekly curriculum focused on college/career readiness. Mentors are matched with a high school student, relationships continue throughout high school and through the first year of college.

Mentors and mentees are matched based on similar interests, personalities, college/career aspirations, and experiences. Matches interact weekly online and meet at a partner school monthly either in-person or virtually, while receiving professional guidance from BBBS staff.

Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, have a college degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience, and commit to being a mentor for at least one year. Professionals with real life work experience are encouraged to apply.

During these COVID times, Causeway has remained open and serving those in need.  Currently we have needs for volunteers to help with grocery shopping, picking up WAFER items, and getting to medical appointments.  We do serve elderly and disabled adults so masks and other safety measures are required for both the volunteer and recipient.

We need YOUR help to spread the Farm Fresh Atlas of Central WI far and wide! Farmshed is currently seeking volunteers to help deliver copies of the 2021 Atlas to businesses across the region, from Antigo to Baraboo, including many locations in Stevens Point and Plover.

Welcome and Assist donors at blood drives throughout the county and at our Monday blood drive at the Agra Pavilion in Merrill as well as other local community blood drives!

Blood Drive Registration is one way that you can help at the Community Blood Center. The only real "job requirement" is a personal desire to help others. Volunteer orientation and training are provided.

The Salvation Army Sheboygan remains committed to Doing The Most Good for our neighbors in need, especially now as we all respond to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  To keep our clients, staff, and volunteers safe, and in accordance with city and state guidelines, we will continue providing food and shelter, but with limited person to person interaction.

We need your help to provide warm meals to our 40 homeless shelter residents. During this time, we are looking for a group or company to purchase the food and prepare a meal off site that can be delivered as scheduled. We do not need the meals served, just delivered already prepared. The meals do not need to be elaborate, served in disposable containers and should serve roughly 30 individuals. 

It is of extreme importance that those signing up for meals understand The Salvation Army is relying on you to deliver a meal on the date indicated by 4:30pm.

Job responsibilities:

Consistently filling grocery carts with food items for guests; may also help load bags of groceries into the trunks of guests’ vehicles; clean-up

Skills Needed:

Must be physically capable of consistently lifting 10-20 lbs, being on the move, on your feet during the duration of the distribution

At this time, masks are recommended, but not required.  Our volunteers will be working on the North end of our building and will have little to no contact with our guests.  Our guests will be entering the South end of our building to check in and get a pick-up number to then drive around to the North end of the building to have their food loaded into the trunk of their vehicle.

If wanting to volunteer, must go to www.rubyspantry.org and fill out an on-line application.  A background check will also be done for all applicants.  Both the application and background check must be completed and approved BEFORE the night of the distribution.  If volunteering in a group, please let us know ahead of time how many will be in your group, so we can make sure all applications and background checks have been approved as well as for our planning purposes.  Once your application is approved and your background check is complete, we will be sending you a monthly e-mail, where you will be able to RSVP for future distributions.

Our minimum age requirement is 10 years.  10-12 year old volunteers MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT  for the duration of the distribution.  Teen volunteers 13 years and older will not need to be accompanied by an adult.  All volunteers under the age of 18 must fill out an on-line application and be approved to volunteer BEFORE the night of the distribution.  Please go to www.rubyspantry.org and fill out a volunteer application.

Assist customers at jewelry counter. Sort, price, and put out jewelry and cosmetics. This is a predominantly seated position, and low impact. We have openings Tuesday through Thursday at this time. 3.5 hours preferred, but we are willing to work with shorter shifts if need be. Our cashiers and baggers work in 3 hour to 3.5 shifts. If you choose to volunteer in this position, you will be partnered with another employee or volunteer. MVM is looking for volunteers to help us in our mission to educate and preserve the history of our military veterans. 

The museum currently has over sixteen thousand artifacts accessioned in its collection, ranging from small items like personal awards and ribbons on through the vehicles and a naval landing craft (Higgins Boat). The museum also receives many artifact donations from veterans and their families on a regular basis. The main goal of the museum at this point is to log the donation into our books and then catalog the donated artifacts into our computer database (a program called Past Perfect) as they come in, and catch up on a backlog of artifacts currently in the collection that are not entered in the database. For this job a person can come in any day of the week, once they have been trained in the entry system. As with our docents and cashiers, there is an expectation to put in a minimum of eight hours per month. More time put in monthly will also enable the volunteer to become and stay more proficient in the use of Past Perfect. Knowledge of military items like uniforms, weapons and hardware items is a definite plus in this job, as one has to be able enter in the dtatbase what the item is and then identify what grouping in Past Perfect it will fit under.
