The Oshkosh Kids Foundation is seeking general volunteers to join our volunteer team! Volunteers help with special events, administrative tasks, sorting drive donations, and the distribution of basic needs items to families in our community. After you submit your Volunteer Interest Form, we'll contact you to learn more about your interests, skills, and availability so we can match you with opportunities that fit your schedule. There is no minimum time commitment required—whether you can help once a year or on a regular basis, we'd love to have you as part of our team!

The ushers responsibility is to greet patrons as they arrive in the lobby or house- answering their questions, letting them know about any special things going on that night, as well as giving information on show length and intermission.

Remain attentive and available for any patron who might need assistance with finding their way out of the theatre during the performance.

After the show ushers are asked to collect playbills from those who wish to return them.
As well as, help patrons exit safely and clean up any debris left in the theater to prepare for the next performance.

We are looking for a volunteer to provide face-painting for kids that will attend the event. All paint and utensils will be provided and you'll be working together with another delightful volunteer, named Maddie. You will need to arrive by about 2:40 in order to set up and get oriented. The event will take place both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) and face painting will be set up outside, so bring along some sunscreen and sunglasses. New Horizons Shelter and Outreach Centers is looking for a dependable volunteer who can give just 1 hour a week to help with basic cleaning around our agency.

Experience: No professional painting experience required. Just a willingness to roll up your sleeves!

The West Fork Sports Club is a 501(c)(3) environmental conservation club and campground focused on protecting the West Fork of the Kickapoo Watershed and adjacent cold water trout stream watersheds. We have 20 acres of beautiful land nestled between two valleys. Our 20 acres supports 25 campsites along 3,500 feet of the West Fork of the Kickapoo. We could use help with prairie restoration efforts and the removal of invasive plant species. We also need to keep our floodplain free to willows so we can allow more native riparian grasses and wildflowers grow.

Are you passionate about helping students learn and grow? Do you enjoy working with children and teens? Whether you excel in Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Languages, or another academic subject, we would love to have you join our team.

The Good Fight Community Center is seeking caring, dependable volunteer tutors to provide academic support to students ages 8–18. Tutors will assist with homework, reinforce classroom learning, help students build confidence, and provide test preparation and study skills as needed. No formal teaching experience is required—just patience, encouragement, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Our tutoring program is scheduled to commence on Monday, August 17th. A standard DOJ Caregiver background check is required to be considered for volunteer service.

The schedule for tutoring will be Monday–Friday during the school year with flexible shifts available between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., subject to student match availability. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to a consistent weekly schedule whenever possible.

Sheboygan Senior Community is looking for friendly volunteers to spend time with our residents at our stocked catch-and-release pond!

We have everything you need—fishing poles, lures, and nets—all we're missing is you. Whether you're an experienced angler or just enjoy being outdoors, this is a wonderful opportunity to make meaningful memories while sharing the simple joy of fishing with our residents.

An after-school art teacher will guide students in creative expression. The teacher will design age-appropriate projects, introduce mediums like painting and clay, manage the classroom, and foster a fun, supportive environment for artistic growth.

Our Sports Coach will create a safe, fun, and developmental environment for the children. Key responsibilities include planning and running age-appropriate practices, teaching fundamental game skills, ensuring equal playing time, and promoting sportsmanship. They must manage team equipment, enforce safety rules, and maintain positive communication with parents and staff.

Literacy Green Bay is looking for volunteers to lead small groups of students in conversation to practice their English. No teaching experience or second language skills are required. Literacy Green Bay will provide conversation starters and topics, if needed. Just bring a love of connecting and creating community! Shifts starting September 14: 4:30-5:30 pm (Mondays and Tuesdays) or 11:30 am-12:30 pm (Wednesdays and Thursdays). Volunteers can sign up to come one day a week, or several days a week. Minimum age: 18.

Help create an encouraging, organized, and memorable experience for young entrepreneurs at the 2027 Kidz Biz Fair.

Hosted by the FIERCE Foundation, Kidz Biz Fair gives youth ages 6–17 the opportunity to create real businesses, develop products or services, build brands, practice financial literacy, and sell directly to customers.

Volunteers may assist with event setup, family check-in, welcoming guests, directing youth vendors, supporting booth areas, judging youth businesses, helping with awards, event photography, cleanup, and general event logistics.

Volunteers do not operate the businesses for participants. Their role is to encourage youth CEOs, support a positive event environment, and help the day run smoothly.

The fair will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2027, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, with an awards ceremony immediately following.

We train individuals between the ages of 18 to 85 with a valid driver's license each May in the protocols of piloting our trishaws. Training is held at the Kane Center in Fish Creek. Volunteers will get to see the impact of their work with hands on projects for homeowners in need at homes in Allouez, Aug. 17-21 and Green Bay, Sept. 21-25. Work such as landscaping, yardwork, painting, gutter cleaning and repair, power washing are common.  Some include skilled labor such as door hanging/repair/trimming, installing handrail/safety bars, window repair/replacement, fence, deck and siding repair.  Lead project coordinators will be available to guide the work and skilled handyman/professionals are always welcome to share their knowledge and expertise to educate both the volunteer and homeowner.

Individuals and organizations/businesses with a group are welcome. We are open to work with an organization/business who has a group but is unavailable to volunteer during the 2 specified Good Neighbor Week dates of August 17-21 in Allouez and September 21-25 in Green Bay in order to help as many homeowners as we can-we received 53 applications. The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show is an annual three-day event held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, that showcases the artistry and incredible talent of quilters. Co-presented by PBS Wisconsin and Nancy Zieman Productions, the event carries on the legacy of the late Nancy Zieman, a lifelong learner and educator at heart who made sewing and quilting approachable for everyone.

With hundreds of educational sessions all facilitated by leading quilt educators, a vendor mall covering 100,000 square feet, and a prestigious 10-category quilt contest and exhibition, it’s PBS Wisconsin's most significant community engagement and fundraising event, attracting over 18,000 attendees nationwide.

But we can't do it alone! We rely on the dedication of over 500 volunteers to bring this incredible event to life. The Tower Heritage Center is seeking enthusiastic volunteers for a short-term, project-based role to help launch our highly anticipated Quarterly Postcard Program. If you enjoy hands-on tasks and want to connect with fellow community members while handling beautiful archival imagery, this is the perfect project for you.

Role Overview

Qualifications:

Our Tactile Outer Space table uses a variety of touchable 3-D printed materials to engage visitors about outer space. Originally designed to be an accessible activity for our blind and low vision guests, anyone can enjoy these activities! Facilitators will help guests interpret the models and assist in making pipe cleaner constellations.

Tactile Outer Space Facilitators usually sit behind a table during their shift. Set up requires minimal lifting and carrying of materials. Minimum age 14 years old. Online background check for those over 18 and Liability Waiver and Confidentiality Policy required.

Help the next generation of mariners to discover their interest in Door County Maritime History by being a Field Trip Docent! Field Trip docents lead groups of children from pre-school through High School age through their museum experience. The amount of factual information conveyed will vary by age of the students, with the emphasis being a positive impression more than a lot of factual details.

Share the history and ongoing story of Sturgeon Bay's Working Waterfront as a docent in the Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower! Tower Docents are stationed on the 10th floor of the tower to answer questions, provide directions, and encourage visitors to continue their experience in the tower. If you have a friendly personality and like chatting with people, this is a great role for you. No prior experience is required, training is provided.

Share the tales of hard-working anglers, brave ship captains, skilled craftsmen, bold inventors and lonely lighthouse keepers by guiding pre-scheduled groups through the museum. Museum docents guide groups through the four galleries in the legacy museum and ten stories of the Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower. No prior knowledge required, all information and training is provided. Docents choose their tours , which vary based on the scheduling of the groups. If you enjoy telling stories and sharing information, this role is for you!

Assist visitors with crossing the famous Cana Island Causeway to visit the historic lighthouse! Our drivers operate a John Deere tractor towing a wooden wagon to take passengers across the causeway connecting the island to the mainland. Experience with similar machinery is helpful but not required. Drivers must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Docents can choose their shifts and opt for half-day or full-day shifts. Additional tours may be scheduled for tour groups, docents choose to take the additional tours.

Disaster Action Team (DAT) members directly help people affected by disasters ranging from wildfires to hurricanes by providing food, shelter, essential relief supplies and hope. Locally, our most common disaster is home fire. The skills you learn are invaluable and make you more effective and efficient. You can also support disasters “behind the scenes” with planning, logistics or volunteer management.

We are looking for a Spanish-speaking volunteer!

Help us coordinate our Diaper Bank and get supplies to families who need them!

Purpose for Volunteer Position: Through a partnership with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers serves as a community diaper hub on the near south side of Milwaukee for families with young children who are struggling to afford clean diapers. Emergency diapers are available to patients of the clinic and community members. As we transition this service from medical to community health, we are in need of a volunteer to assist us with coordination of these efforts.

Benefits to the volunteer: Volunteering provides an opportunity to build communication, planning and organizational skills, while improving access to necessities in a community based healthcare setting. What: Learn for Life, a United Way of Portage County internal program, provides 2nd and 3rd grade learners who are below grade level reading proficiency with volunteer tutors. Tutors work with teachers and students to support reading achievement in the early grades. 

When: Learn for Life will run throughout the 2026-2027 school year, starting the week of November 1st and ending the week of May 2nd. 

Where: Learn for Life supports all public and private schools in Portage County.

Commitment: Substitute tutors are needed either 30 or 60 minutes as needed throughout the school year.

Qualifications: No experience necessary. All substitute tutors will need to complete a registration form, background check, and attend a 1-hour orientation before tutoring students. New tutors will need to interview with the Learn for Life Program Coordinator.

The need is year-round and these blankets serve as a heartfelt thank you for a lifetime of service. For many veterans at the end of life, a handmade blanket offers warmth, comfort, and a visible sign of appreciation. These blankets often become treasured keepsakes for patients and their families—symbols of honor, service, and national gratitude. 

Horizon will provide you with guidelines for blanket size, and drop‑off instructions. While our country’s 250th anniversary as a country is behind us, our need to thank our veterans is never ending. This project is one small but powerful way to say: Your service is remembered. Your sacrifice matters.

Use your knitting, quilting or crafting skills to bring comfort, dignity, and gratitude to veteran hospice patients by creating handmade lap blankets with patriotic colors or themes (red, white, blue, military‑inspired patterns, stars, etc.).

The need is year-round and these blankets serve as a heartfelt thank you for a lifetime of service. For many veterans at the end of life, a handmade blanket offers warmth, comfort, and a visible sign of appreciation. These blankets often become treasured keepsakes for patients and their families—symbols of honor, service, and national gratitude. 

Horizon will provide you with guidelines for blanket size and drop‑off instructions. While our country’s 250th anniversary as a country is behind us, our need to thank our veterans is never ending. This project is one small but powerful way to say: Your service is remembered. Your sacrifice matters.

We are in need of one volunteer to help with packing and delivering for our senior meals program.  You must be able to go up and down stairs and carry 20-25 pounds.  

Hours are Thursdays from 7:30am-10:00am. We are looking for someone to start in August. 

We are looking for 2 volunteers to assist with our home delivery program!  You would help by delivering to clients that are home-bound every other week.  You must be able to carry grocery bags, possibly up stairs into client's homes.  You will work with another person at all times. 

Hours are every other Wednesday from 10am-12pm. 

Calling all bookworms! Book Lovers Day is August 9, and we’ve got a fun way for you to celebrate by spreading the joy of reading, one beloved book at a time.

Celebrate Book Lovers Day by sharing a book you love in a Little Free Library near you. You’ll be expanding book access by sharing your favorite reads.

It’s easy to participate:

This is a great activity for families, friends, or book clubs to do together.

On August 4th at the La Crosse Center we are in need of volunteers to help guide families to the various stations for Back@School. There will be dental checkups ups, haircuts, health screening and of course picking school supplies.

Do you have one hour per month during the weekdays available? Valley VNA is looking for volunteer drivers who will be scheduled for a meal delivery route within the cities of Neenah and Menasha. Volunteer drivers will pick up meals at around 11:00 am at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah and then follow the delivery route provided and drop off a healthy meal for our clients.  Once all meals are delivered, the delivery bag is returned to ThedaCare. Please reach out for available routes that occur on a monthly basis.

The Corner Store is open to our residents every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., and we're looking for volunteers to help make it a welcoming shopping experience.

Remote volunteering is flexible, inclusive, and impactful. If you have a caring heart, Horizon Home Care and Hospice will provide training, especially centered around therapeutic communication with the dying and the grieving.

Horizon Home Care and Hospice is certified by Joint Commission and reports to the State Board. As required, you should plan on 10-15 hours of in-person orientation structured to your schedule.

Virtual, phone and online volunteers are a key part of a patient’s care team. This opportunity is flexible and meaningful; your impact will be clear. While your comforting virtual contact will brighten someone’s day, you will be amazed how your day is brightened as well.

The Oakwood Village University Woods Independent Living resident Nature Preserve leadership is in need of individual or group volunteers interested in helping with maintenance of the University Woods Nature Preserve through October 2026.

Individual volunteers would ideally be needed to help with weekly tasks such as weeding (a priority).  Volunteer groups are also needed to help one-time or periodically with larger special projects.  Volunteer groups can be from area schools or businesses.

Registration of individual volunteers and basic vetting of volunteer groups is necessary for set-up.  NOTE: Interested volunteer groups need to get in touch a minimum of 1 month ahead of time to be considered for set-up.  This is necessary for required communication follow-up between Oakwood staff and Nature Preserve resident leadership to confirm group set-up

Volunteers continue to be needed to help Oakwood Village University Woods maintain this University Woods 'jewel' for the enjoyment of residents and others for the campus. 

Ranch Day is our largest event of the year! We make and sell food, have live music, offer horse back rides, have games for the whole family, a corn roast, silent auction/raffles, and more! We need many hands to make this event amazing so we can raise funds to support our therapeutic riding and mentorship programs. There are many repairs and updates that need to be done on The Ranch and support from other businesses and the generosity of volunteers like you can make that happen!

The most frequent request made by Lily Hospice patients is for a visit from a Certified Therapy Dog or Therapy Cat. We want to honor those requests. Can you help?

If you & your dog, cat or other furry/feathered companion have been evaluated and certified as a Therapy Animal Team, we are looking for you! Join our "Fur-Get-Me-Not Friends" Program!

We recognize how important Animal-Assisted Therapy (sometimes called "pet therapy") visits can be to hospice patients. Not only are these visits a welcome distraction from daily routine, but they give patients an opportunity to reminisce about their own beloved pets; and for those patients that are a little more withdrawn, therapy animals provide affection without the need for conversation. We often hear hospice patients, and their families, remark that the therapy animal visits are the highlight of their day or week.

We welcome dogs, cats, rabbits & more; however, ALL must have proof of therapy animal certification prior to visiting Lily Hospice patients.
