Assisted Living dining room volunteers are needed to help serve hot beverages to residents in the Tabor Oaks dining room during, and help residents go back to their rooms after, meal time once a week at Oakwood Village University Woods.  Dining room volunteers are needed to help for breakfast (7:30-9:00 a.m.), lunch (11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.), or dinner (4:30-6:00 p.m.) once a week.  Volunteers will be set up to help for the same day and meal time each week for consistency.  NOTE: volunteers will help residents go back to their rooms after lunch and dinner from the Tabor Oaks dining room, but not breakfast.

This help is needed for residents to have a quality meal time experience.

The Dane County Farmers’ Market is proud to participate in the EBT/FoodShare program. Good nutrition is important for all of us, regardless of age, income level, or circumstance. And there is no better way to good nutrition and good health than through locally-grown and raised, natural products.

Every Saturday, the Dane County Farmers' Market (DCFM) relies on volunteers to help answer customer questions and process SNAP/EBT transactions. All volunteers are expected to: treat all customers with respect, be willing to learn the in's and out's of the farmers' market, and support the vendors and customers to the best of their ability.

The DCFM provides all the training necessary to be a successful volunteer, however an interest in working with the public and an attention to detail are required for volunteers.

The Smith's Crossing Community Garden (SCCG) located near the Northeast YMCA in Sun Prairie is seeking a Board members. You'll have fun helping us grow the garden in significant ways such as supplying a permanent watering system, beautifying the garden with shrubbery and trees, and otherwise helping us realize our goals. The board member will work with local businesses, non-profits and our partners to transact Garden business.

No experience in gardening is necessary nor is leasing a plot mandatory.  The board member will participate in SCCG Board Meetings bimonthly and has traditionally assisted in maintaining the Garden grounds as part of our team. We encourage families of board members to get involved in supporting our mission of providing healthy food to the Sun Prairie Food Pantry.  It is not necessary for the board member to be a resident of Smith's Crossing or Sun Prairie.

The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) is an innovative program designed to maximize the hospital experience of older patients. Being in the hospital can be difficult for an older person and can cause a decline in their physical and mental abilities. FRIENDS, Inc. is looking for On-Call SANE Advocates to provide support to survivors of sexual assault.

When an individual has been sexually assaulted, they are encouraged to go to their local emergency room to have a Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) completed. 

This volunteer opportunity offers support to victims of sexual assault at the time of their medical exam (SANE exam). The On-Call SANE Advocate is responsible for providing emotional support as needed and information about FRIENDS services and other community resources for victims and their families.

As an On-Call SANE Advocate you are required to sign up to cover 3+ weekends a year.

On-call schedules start Fridays at 4:30pm and end Sundays at 9:00pm, on call response time: 45 min.   

Note: Advocate is responsible for being available during the weekend slots they signed up to cover, between the days and times stated above.

We need help keeping our kennels clean! Kennel cleaning is done from 8:30am to about 12:00 pm, so perfect for those who like to get up and get moving right away in the morning!

Kennel cleaning volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.  Cleaners are expected to empty all things out of the kennels, spray them down with cleaner, scrub them, rinse them, and squeegee.

Volunteers will then set the kennels back up for the dogs.

This position does not have a lot of hands on with animals, as staff will be the ones to transport the dogs in and out of the kennels.

HSSC needs foster homes for all kittens under 8 weeks of age! Kittens are coming in faster than we can keep up with, and we need safe places for them to get accustomed to the world with safe people who can provide for their basic needs. Types of kittens typically needing foster homes are: neonatal bottle babies (need to be bottle fed every few hours), babies with mom, and older babies without mom.

All foster parents are trained by HSSC staff, and all materials needed for fostering will be provided.

Some needs are short term (week or two) where as others would be longer. Typically no more than 8 weeks time is needed from a foster parent. While an adult over 18 must be the person primarily responsible for the kittens, we encourage involvement from the whole family. In addition to helping our feline friends, this is a great way for younger children to get involved and to provide education about caring for an animal.

Occasionally fosters are needed for adult cats as well. Adult cats who are in need of foster are typically cats with fewer social skills or cats who have medical needs. The needs will vary depending on the cat.

The Community Blood Center is looking for volunteers who can assist with duties like organizing blood drive materials, taking inventory of promotional items, folding event T-shirts, packing snack bins, decorating Holiday floats, assisting with large seasonal drives (MASH and Holiday Drives) and so much more!

We are looking for volunteers to call when we need support one-off events including but not limited to the events above. We have no minimum requirement for time. Training is provided. 

We are always in need of plants and gardening help.  Our garden on 9th and Ring in Milwaukee is open for anyone to grow and anyone from the community to come and pick produce. 

We are seeking help in our linen department. This would include sorting and pricing donations of blankets, towels, sheets and pillows. You would be partnered with one of our current volunteers. There is no minimum hourly requirement, and we offer flexible scheduling. Come support your community through good works!

Our furniture department is looking for help attending to our donation drop off. This would consist of helping customers unload their donations or load up their purchases. They will then be sorted out to various departments. The days of operation for our drop off are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. With this position you will be both outdoors and indoors. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs. There are no minimum hourly requirements, and we have flexible scheduling available. Come support the community through charitable works!

Volunteers are the heart of our community coffee shop. We're supporting local nonprofits while serving up soul-warming drinks & sweet treats. It's a wonderful combo, and it wouldn't be possible without people like you.

– Working the register: a friendly, welcoming demeanor and comfort handling credit card and cash transactions  

– Food preparation: basic knife skills and a willingness to learn and adhere to strict health codes

The JA Finance Park program teaches financial literacy to students in grades 7th-12th. They complete 12 lessons in the classroom with their teacher at school prior to their visit with us where they will put their learning to the test in our budgeting simulation. This program teaches essential skills in personal finance that lead to a lifetime of financial peace. 

Volunteers to work with a small group of students for the day, leading discussions and sharing your personal experiences. Students receive a life scenario, income, and credit rating with which they apply for loans, create a budget, and then try to live within that budget. Students gain a lot of eye-opening knowledge about how much things cost and how to live within their means. This is a great opportunity to facilitate hands on learning and ideal for anyone with a passion for financial literacy that enjoys working with students. Training is provided each day prior to student arrival.

We need up to 12 volunteers each day that students are on site. This is a one-day opportunity with many dates in the 25-26 school year to choose from.

Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join our Board. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with experience working with non-profit accounting, or a willingness to learn. Duties include managing bi-monthly payroll, filing quarterly federal and state reports, preparing the annual 990 and WI State reporting, preparing annual W-2s and 1099s, and preparing monthly statements of account for the board of directors. Familiarity with Quickbooks Online a plus. Time commitment is approximately 2 hours/month, plus time needed to prepare annual tax filings.

Volunteer at JA BizTown to support and inspire students as they develop skills related to financial literacy, community, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Located on the FVTC campus in Appleton, JA BizTown is an onsite learning experience for 4th-6th graders that gives students a place to put their classroom learning to the test. Students step off the bus and into the role of an adult for the day as they run our simulated town. They operate a credit union, restaurant, city hall, media center, manufacturer, logistical center, and other businesses with the goal of managing their personal finances, learning job skills, and helping their business be successful. They work hard as a producer in the JA BizTown economy during the morning and will switch into the role of a consumer in the afternoon as they spend their hard-earned money on goods and services around the town. This is an invaluable "real-world" experience for students from all over NE Wisconsin. 

As a JA BizTown volunteer you will be assigned to a business where you will support a small group of students/employees through their day at JA BizTown. Your role is to step back and empower them to shine in their jobs for the day. You will help kids stay on task while they do all the necessary work to make their business run smoothly. Training to support you in your volunteer role is provided the morning of the simulation as well as online prior to your arrival.

We are seeking a volunteer to help us with our grant and maybe teach us a thing or two along the way. This is a completely remote opportunity and can be done on your own time.

We are currently presenting four programs for area schools and homeschools:

Full-Day Education programs offer students in grades 2-6 the opportunity to experience American History hands-on, through the lens of Sheboygan County. Open to public and private schools and homeschool groups, our Full-Day Education Programs run from 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and are designed to meet Wisconsin and District curriculum standards.

As an example, Our Civil War program offers five hours of hands-on and gallery activities. Students travel back to the time of the Civil War and learn about its impact on the lives of people in Sheboygan County. Students “enlist” in the Union Army, march with a model rifle, send telegraph messages, make a toy drum, carry a stretcher, try out crutches, design a flag, play period games, crawl into in a dog tent, sample chicory coffee, pose for a long-exposure photo, and much more. Volunteers make these activities possible, working alongside staff and other volunteers with groups of 3-8 students at a time.

As we ramp back up to serving more than 3,000 students annually, we need volunteers to help. No teaching experience necessary. We provide training and let you choose your interests. Pick up food from local businesses and bring it to the pantry on various days of the week. You must have your own vehicle and insurance. We will pay for gas! Right now we pick up on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

You must call the store at (715) 344-7395, Monday- Friday, ahead of your scheduled volunteer day for information on where to go, etc.

The CMC is currently in need of volunteers to work as assistants in the jobs office most weekdays!

This position includes giving one-on-one help to guests by:

Volunteer schedules may vary, but the jobs office is open Tuesday through Friday. Volunteers can help out anywhere from 1 hour to a full day. Spanish and English speaking skills are helpful. Orientation and training is provided by Preceptor to ensure all our volunteers are prepared for their first independent friendly visit. Regular support is given to all volunteers by our Preceptor team- communication and collaboration are important to us! We are a team- including our valued volunteers!

Moments Hospice is looking for volunteers to join our team. Our patients have a terminal illness diagnosis and are in their final stages of life. As a Hospice Volunteer you will be visiting patients in their home or in nursing facilities.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Meta House strives to provide a lunch for each outpatient client while they're here receiving services. Many of our clients face food insecurity; your generous donation of bagged lunches ensures they have a full belly so they can fully engage in their recovery journey.

DETAILS

We ask volunteers to assemble and donate a minimum of 20 bag lunches, including a sandwich and at least two sides, packed in a paper bag. We welcome your creativity! Some donors include affirmations or uplifting quotes that help clients navigate challenging days. Lunches need to be dropped off by noon on the reserved date. We welcome volunteers to participate one-time, weekly, monthly - everyone is invited to get involved!

Do you have a gift for working with young children? We are looking for volunteers for Nature in the Classroom. Nature in the Classroom is a science and literary program that is geared towards students from Kindergarten through 3rd grade.  Each month a volunteer comes into the classroom, introduces a topic, reads a story and engages the students in discussion and activities to explore the science behind it. Nature in the Classroom provides hands-on experiences for students, provides supplementary resources that teachers may not otherwise be able to provide in their classrooms, encourages respect for nature, and promotes Lac Lawrann Conservancy.

LLC is looking for volunteers to assist with:

*Potting over 5 thousand plants leading up to our annual wildflower sale on May 11th.  We pot on Tuesday's and Thursday's  in April from 9-12 in the LLC barn then have a potluck lunch afterwards.  We have chairs for those who are unable to stand and pot plants.

*Day of sale volunteers needed on May 11th from 9am-1pm, no gardening experience needed!  The event is always a very fun community event.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Gain hands-on experience in promoting health to students and parents in the community by helping coordinate and assist school garden education sessions and recipe demonstrations at local elementary schools. We are looking for 3-4 interns for this upcoming semester. Together with the GROW board, other interns, and volunteers you will lead an essential role in providing community nutrition education, along with assisting our program directors in garden education sessions and recipe demonstration, interns will also enhance their experiences when coordinating volunteers, overseeing garden maintenance, building relationships, evaluating programs, documenting, and community organizing.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Approximately 6-8 hrs/wk totaling a minimum of 90 hours for the semester. Some interns have taken this as an independent study and received credit. Nutrition programming and meetings can be planned around intern’s schedule as long as 5 hours a week are during elementary school hours (8am-3pm). Other requirements can be done throughout each week as you have time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Nutrition/Sustainability Education Interns will be responsible for assisting the program directors with garden classes, helping facilitate garden maintenance tasks and organization of produce getting from garden to cafeteria or classroom, and assisting with volunteer coordination; in addition to weekly meetings with your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, is comfortable working with children, has experience coordinating and working with volunteers, and the ability to get from their house to each school - the furthest one is 3.5 miles from UWL campus. Overview

The Community Garden Coordinator will help grow and maintain plants, as well as inform others about the plants and answer casual inquiries. The coordinator will work outside (3-6 hours/week) from April through October. With staff supervision, volunteers prepare planting beds, plant, weed, prune and deadhead, water and harvest. This volunteer must be at least 18 years old and complete a WI Caregiver’s background check.

Qualifications

This position is for volunteers interested in performing general gardening practices outdoors who are enthusiastic about plants, communicate well with staff and the public, and don’t mind repetitive tasks like weeding (sometimes for extended periods of time).

We have minor to major tree trimming needing to be completed within the park. We planted 70 new trees last year that may also need some attention.

Reach Counseling is Winnebago County's Sexual Assault Service Provider. Our Prevention Education program is active in dozens of schools throughout Winnebago and Outagamie Counties. We have a K-12 curriculum for sexual violence to educate about and prevent child abuse in our community. Volunteer Presenters will be trained and will present within the schools in person at mutually agreed upon times. Additional training will be provided to answer questions from the students and respond if they disclose sexual abuse.

Reach Counseling is Winnebago County's Sexual Assault Service Provider. Our volunteer office assistants help with coverage of the front desk, filing paperwork, office organization, and other tasks to help our staff move smoothly through our workdays.

The Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for and raising awareness of the needs of gifted and talented learners across Wisconsin.

We are currently seeking volunteer board members who are passionate about gifted education and committed to supporting students, families, and educators throughout the state.

Board members serve on a working board and are expected to actively participate in monthly virtual meetings held on the third Monday of each month from 6:00–7:30 p.m. In addition, the board meets in person twice per year, and members are expected to participate in WATG's annual conference each October.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin matches an adult volunteer mentor with a young person who WANTS a mentor in their life. Matches are made based on compatibility and interests. You will enjoy friendship and fun with your Little!

The kids are between the ages of 6-18 years old. Matches meet 2 times per month up to 4 times per month.  

In the community-based program, matches enjoy get togethers that do not require spending a lot of money. Matches do things like get outdoors, play some sports, take bike rides and walks, head to the nature center, play board games and cards, cook and bake together, build things, go to community activities around town, attend free library programs, come to our BBBS events, and just talk and laugh. 

The site-based program happens on a weekly basis at the Little's school during their lunch break. Matches eat together, play games, work on puzzles or art projects, talk and share photos, and enjoy the time together becoming friends. Matches only meet when school is in session.

Mentors must be 18 years old and plan to be matched at least one year.

Horizon is seeking volunteers to participate in our flower program. It's a meaningful, joyous experience, creating bouquets of colorful flowers for our hospice patients!

There are invaders in the Great Lakes! Engage with guests to teach them about the aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes Future exhibit. Hosts will use a variety of preserved specimens and occasionally a live specimen to educate visitors about the damaging effects common aquatic invasive species have on the Great Lakes ecosystem, as well as control and prevention methods.

The Outagamie County Nutrition Program serves meals to individuals who are 60+ years old. Meals are served in two different settings: congregate and home-delivered. Congregate meals are offered at five different locations: Hortonville, Kaukauna, Oneida Heights (Appleton), Seymour, and the Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center (Appleton). Home-delivered meals are offered throughout Outagamie County.

Days and hours can be at your agreed upon discretion.

Our Recreation Program is key to essential skill building, socialization, community inclusion, while promoting wellness and well-being.  Through a variety of events and activities - held both within our building and within our communities - individuals with disabilities pursue current interests and hobbies and explore new ones!  

A sampling of our activities include - theatre productions, concerts and shows, museums and zoos, sporting events, outdoor excursions, fairs and festivals, seasonal activities, arts and creative opportunities, holiday and themed events and cultural experiences.

Volunteers assist our staff in a variety of ways.  

During the week, opportunities generally start at 4:00-4:30 pm and last as little as two-to-three hours or may extend to four-to-five hours, based on the actual event/activity.  Saturday opportunities can be daytime hours or evening hours.

Front Entrance Ambassador is an individual who has a warm and inviting presence. Ambassadors first steps should make sure all visitors are met with a friendly greeting. Ambassadors guide, assist, and make your arrivals a seamless and delightful experience. They should provide helpful information, answer questions, helping with wheelchair assistance, and helping patients get to his/her appointments.

Aurora Health Care part of Advocate Health: Volunteering opportunities 

Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG) is a statewide nonprofit, passionate about advocating for and raising awareness of the needs of gifted and talented students.

We are in need of volunteer board members who are passionate about gifted and talented education in Wisconsin.

Board members are required to attend a monthly virtual meeting on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. We have two in-person meetings per year (COVID dependent) as well as an annual conference in October that members are required to participate in. Board members are active participants on this "working board".
