Volunteer: Kitten Foster HomesHSSC needs foster homes for all kittens under 8 weeks of age! Kittens are coming in faster than we can keep up with, and we need safe places for them to get accustomed to the world with safe people who can provide for their basic needs. Types of kittens typically needing foster homes are: neonatal bottle babies (need to be bottle fed every few hours), babies with mom, and older babies without mom. All foster parents are trained by HSSC staff, and all materials needed for fostering will be provided. Some needs are short term (week or two) where as others would be longer. Typically no more than 8 weeks time is needed from a foster parent. While an adult over 18 must be the person primarily responsible for the kittens, we encourage involvement from the whole family. In addition to helping our feline friends, this is a great way for younger children to get involved and to provide education about caring for an animal. Occasionally fosters are needed for adult cats as well. Adult cats who are in need of foster are typically cats with fewer social skills or cats who have medical needs. The needs will vary depending on the cat. Whether they are driving to an adventure, chaperoning a sleepover, or helping glue, cut, and color Troop Helpers can do it all! Troop Cookie Manager Coordinate the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program at the troop level.
