You must call the store at (715) 344-7395, Monday- Friday, ahead of your scheduled volunteer day for information on where to go, etc.

Sort clothing, shoes, etc. and hang them. Set up clothing displays. Flexible days and times, perfect for college kids!

Do you love history, science, and art exhibits and sharing your enthusiasm for these subjects with kids? The museum is looking for volunteers to lead school groups through the exhibits.

As a tour guide, you'll be responsible for leading groups of up to 25 students and their teachers/chaperones through the exhibits for 45-60 minutes.  Successful volunteers don't need to be experts on everything in the museum; we'll teach you everything you need to know. What is more important is enthusiasm, the ability to think on your feet when a kid asks a whacky question, and your ability to make the museum fun and entertaining.

Volunteers train by shadowing experienced guides, spending time exploring the exhibits on their own, and when they're ready, by doing a tag-team tour with an experienced guide.

The schedule is variable, but our volunteers typically lead between 2 and 5 tours each month, and tours are usually weekdays with most being in the mornings.

We are looking for volunteers to provide adults with disabilities or those who live alone with a daily call. The program offers support and peace of mind for individuals as well as their families and friends, knowing that someone is checking in on their loved ones. Volunteers call Monday-Friday. Meet New Friends!

We match a caring volunteer, age 55 and older with an individual age 60+ and/or with disabilities who is lonely and looking to increase interactions with people. The volunteer will meet or call on a regular basis enabling the participant to remain independent as long as possible, and to lessen the effects of isolation. Most of the participants in this program are home bound living independently or in assisted living. The volunteer acts as a "friendly neighbor" who checks in with the participant and spends some quality time with them. Training is provided.

We cultivate community-minded individuals and professionals to Lead United in their workplaces, in our community and through their philanthropy. Lead United households give between $1,000-$9,999 annually and are passionate about making Dane County a more resilient community. This donor network was created to celebrate and promote leadership giving in Dane County, provide positive donor experiences, and strengthen donor connections and understanding of the impact of their investments.

Community Starter Troop Leaders will lead a troop of girls aged 5-8 on hands-on program activities, including community service, outdoor education, science, art, and more. 

Run just 2 meetings per month at each community site, such as a library or school. Patience and energy is a must!

Program plans and resources will be provided, but you are responsible for preparing and customizing each meeting. There are opportunities for creativity. You will have help from another volunteer.

 We are a volunteer group in West Salem, WI that provides EMS coverage for the Village of West Salem, Town of Barre, and Town of Hamilton. We have been providing this service since 1986.  We respond to medical calls as needed, when paged out, 24/7/365. We average about 1.5 calls/day.

We are looking for volunteers that are in the medical field, who would be interested in getting volunteer hours while helping the community.  If you are certified as a first responder, EMT, paramedic, nurse, doctor, or any similar license we want you to join our team!  This is a great way to get some hands on experience and see what the real world has to offer and gets you that experience you need for your career path.  

If you do not have any certifications, you are still able to do our ride along program.  This involves riding along to the calls, and observing what we do, but you would not be able to be hands on. This is a good way to find out if this field is for you.

There is no set schedule to follow.  You are able to put yourself on call, when you are able.  All we ask is you try and put in 48 hours a month.

Responding to an emergency medical call requires a fast response.  Because of this, you would be required to be in West Salem so you can get to the station in a timely manner.  We do offer college students the ability to spend the day/night at the station.  A great time to get homework and studying done.  We have a full bathroom, and even a washing machine and dryer.

FIAMC provides area seniors with FREE transportation to the following within Marathon County:

- Personal Rides for visiting spouse/family/friend in another facility, church, community activities, hair appointments, pharmacy, and visiting the library.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Racine & Kenosha Counties serves children ages 6-17. We are a community based 1 to 1 mentor program. Community based allows the Big to share experiences with their Little while discovering what each county as to offer. Being a Big provides a Little with a positive role model.

We do require a 1 year commitment and spending time with your Little 4 hours a month.

Help support our students by volunteering during therapeutic riding lessons! Therapeutic riding lessons are horseback riding lessons for people with disabilities. Therapeutic riding promotes strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination. The human-horse interaction also promotes confidence, self- esteem, problem solving, and emotional regulation.

Volunteers are responsible for grooming and tacking horses for lessons, and side walking or leading horses during lessons. Side walkers provide physical, social, and mental support for riders as they walk along side the student. Horse leaders manage the horses during the lesson.

Currently, we are offering lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.

In order to get started as a lesson volunteer, the first step is to attend volunteer orientation, or if you would like to begin sooner, you may join any session of lessons as a volunteer shadow to one of our mentor volunteers. Mentor volunteers, along with the instructors for the class will help guide you through the process of volunteering for lessons.

The mission of Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center is to meet the needs of runaway, homeless, and other troubled youth and their families from Milwaukee’s diverse communities by providing services to empower youth, help them resolve personal and family problems, strengthen family relationships, and support safe and stable homes.

Our Organization

Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which has provided assistance to Milwaukee area youth and families since 1976. Over the past 43 years, we have served over 8,000 young people ages 11-17 with temporary emergency shelter through our Runaway & Teen Crisis Program, and provided an additional 6,400 youth with non-residential counseling and support group services. Since 1992, we have also provided housing to over 530 youth ages 16-21 through our Transitional & Supportive Housing Program.

Come dedicate 1 day a week for 14 weeks to help file taxes. Training is self paced and starts in late November or early December. All preparers are tested to either a basic or advance level. Partnered with an experienced preparer, never work alone until you are ready. Preparers will either met with clients in person every one hour and fifteen minutes or clients will drop off their information so that we can prepare their taxes.

Background checks are required of all volunteers. Training is done both self paced and in person before the season begins.

For 14 weeks a year, greeters will work to answer phones, schedule appointments, answer questions, and help clients with filling out information that is needed for the tax preparer.

All greeters will commit to at least one 4 hour day per week for the 14 weeks of the season. Will work with your schedule and ours to make it best fit for everyone.

Continue to maintain housekeeping at the Ashland Community Shelter by sorting, folding and putting away sheets, picking up the common areas, and just help out in general.

Donations ebb and flow so this is a great volunteer assignment for someone who is flexible and willing to help sort food, complete other small tasks,  or who would like some quiet time to work on something of their own - read a book, bring a craft, work on your laptop, etc.

The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one regular shift on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for at least 3 months. Of course, this is with the understanding that a volunteer will likely need flexibility for vacations, sickness, appointments, etc.

Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) provide a voice in the court for a child involved with the child welfare system for a case of abuse, neglect, or other situation impacting the child’s safety, permanency, or well-being. This is a crucial role for some of Dane and Columbia Counties' most vulnerable children.

CASAs are appointed by and act as the eyes and ears for the juvenile court judge. Advocates make weekly visits to their assigned child (either in the parental home, foster home, residential treatment facility, at school, or in the community), as well as correspond with caregivers, teachers, and other service providers to get a complete picture of the child’s history and current circumstances. CASAs, with the support of CASA staff, provide written reports to judges and parties to the case, helping them to make more informed decisions that ensure the child reaches a safe and permanent home as soon as possible. CASAs also work cooperatively with social workers, attorneys, and other professionals involved in the case to recommend and coordinate services that support the best interests of the child.

In our School-Based Mentoring Program, a mentor will give a child the invaluable gift of being a caring and consistent friend to them.

Our School-Based or Site-Based Mentoring Program volunteer will meet with their Little for about 1 hour on a specific day, in a supervised setting, on a weekly basis.  Volunteers are matched during lunch periods or after school hours.  (Hours vary at different sites.)  Volunteering takes place in Stevens Point, WI.  Volunteer activity ideas are playing board games, reading together, doing craft projects, or just talking.

Marketing is seeking volunteers who would like to assist in the areas of social media, graphic design, photography, video, and event preparation.

Occasionally we need people to do simple, repetitive office tasks, such as fold brochures, stuff envelopes, etc.

Special events need greeters and servers who enjoy meeting with people, as well as people to haul, set up, and clean up. Bakers can also contribute snacks and treats to our events. High school aged students are welcome to help. 

Help with preparation, facilitation, and clean-up of different glass-based projects. Glass classes and Art Activity Days require a lot of preparation for smooth running. Learn and practice things like cutting, cleaning and grinding glass. Time commitment: 1-3 hours/week.

You will help facilitate hands-on art activities during our Art Activity Days that we hold one Saturday a month. Set up and help families create small non-glass crafts throughout the museum. Or help people create down in the studio. No experience is required except confidence in working with the public.

Volunteer will assist the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions with researching, digitizing, organizing and filing general media, collections and exhibits records. Prior experience with photography and digital scanning is helpful, but not compulsory.

The Museum Shop is looking for enthusiastic individuals who would enjoy working in a lively and fun retail setting. Though previous retail experience is not necessary, volunteers should feel comfortable working with the public and independently on an occasional weekend or Thursday eve.

Approx. time commitment is two 3 or 3.5 hour shifts and one 1 hour training per month.

Training involves five 2-hour sessions and no previous experience is required. The fifth session involves a final project which may extend the timing of the session. Training sessions will take place on Mondays from 3:00pm-5:00pm on June 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and July 8th. All sessions will be held on site at the Museum. More training sessions coming soon!

Compassionate Vigil Volunteer are a part of our No One Dies Alone program (NODA) and offers support and a comforting presence to ensure that patients at the end of life are never alone by providing a quiet, compassionate presence, companionship or respite to family members with a comforting touch, a listening ear to a patient in their final stages of life.

Current locations include patient homes, facilities and our Inpatient Center.

Online orientation and training is provided to ensure you feel comfortable and prepared, unless you opt for in person training.

We ask our NODA Volunteers to have the ability to sit for up to 2 or more hours at a time and most importantly have the qualities of compassion and empathy. Our NODA typically runs from 8:00pm-8:00am taking 2,3 or 4 hours of that timeframe with other volunteers.

Pine Haven is looking for a volunteer to come transport residents from their rooms to our beauty shop at our Giddings Ave and Haven Dr campuses. Coverage is needs on varying Wednesday and Friday mornings. 

Residents will already be in their wheelchairs so you will not be doing any transferring, just simply pushing them to the salon....a great way to get some exercise in! This is also a really fun way to meet some amazing new people. While residents are getting their hair done you will be able to visit with them, hear their stories and definitely laugh with them!

Volunteers in this role support La Casa de Esperanza’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program by serving as the first point of contact for clients during their tax appointments. Program Support Assistant / Intake Screener volunteers play a vital role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and welcoming tax preparation services. Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients at the beginning of their tax appointments (in-person or virtually)

• Make copies of tax documents and identification cards

• Guide clients through the completion of required intake and consent forms, ensuring all questions are fully answered

• Review intake forms for completeness and accuracy

• Organize and deliver client files to IRS-certified tax preparers for review

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information Training & Certification

Our programs include homebuyer counseling, free tax preparation services, employment support, financial counseling, a loan program for credit-challenged clients, and a Lead-Safe Homes initiative.

Position Summary, the Program Support Assistant (Volunteer) provides essential administrative and program support across multiple community service programs. Assisted Living dining room volunteers are needed to help serve hot beverages to residents in the Tabor Oaks dining room during, and help residents go back to their rooms after, meal time once a week at Oakwood Village University Woods.  Dining room volunteers are needed to help for breakfast (7:30-9:00 a.m.), lunch (11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.), or dinner (4:30-6:00 p.m.) once a week.  Volunteers will be set up to help for the same day and meal time each week for consistency.  NOTE: volunteers will help residents go back to their rooms after lunch and dinner from the Tabor Oaks dining room, but not breakfast.

This help is needed for residents to have a quality meal time experience.
