Volunteers are the HEART of Heartland Hospice!
As a companion volunteer you can enrich the lives of terminally ill patients in your community by visiting one or more times each month. Visits may involved playing games, enjoying a leisurely stroll around the nursing home/assisted living facility or just engaging in lively conversation. Service hours are flexible and scheduled according to your availability and location.
You have the power to bring the greatest gift to our patients' lives. . . a smile and reassurance that comes with knowing they are genuinely cared for! If you have a little extra time to give to hear someone's life story, and have a big heart, click either brown RESPOND button at the top and bottom of this listing to notify Liz, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator that you wish to learn more about our unique volunteer opportunities. We're waiting to hear from you!
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older; agree to a background/reference check; and attend an orientation to learn more about the philosophy of hospice and our company, the role of the volunteer and communicating with hospice patients and their families. Travel is required for this volunteer opportunity, so volunteers must have reliable transportation.
